Buying Character sheets

why are there none for sale? I want to run a changeling The Dreaming 20th . There is ONE sheet for it and it contains errors and is not very well set up for rolls. I understand roll20 not making them, but why are there none for sale by others???

You may be overestimating the number of active sheet authors there are compared to the number of game systems that exist.&nbsp; While there are some community members that make some very impressive sheets, there are quite a few of us that are not necessarily what some might think of as "competent" at html, css, and javascript for sheetworkers.&nbsp; Since a sheet is not an easy thing for me, I will only work on sheets for systems in which I have experience and nothing real worthwhile exists.&nbsp; If you have the skills, and since you have a pro account, you could make the changes to the sheet yourself and submit them to github. A couple links to get you going, if you have the time and desire: <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Building_Character_Sheets" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Building_Character_Sheets</a> <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Beginner%27s_Guide_to_GitHub" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Beginner%27s_Guide_to_GitHub</a>

Technically there are character sheets to sell. You just have to buy a web designer and pay him the proper rate for his work - which will start in the low hundreds and go up to the low thousands. To be able to sell sheets for $5 or $10, you need to be able to guarantee there will be hundreds of buyers, to make it economical. And since only the GM of the campaign needs to 'buy' the sheet, that isn't really feasible for the vast majority of games. Roll20 recognised this, and sensibly set up the sheet design process the way it is now - volunteers can just jump in and make something. It would be nice if character sheet creators were able to get something in return for their work (especially given how integral that work has been to the success of the platform), but there's no way to do that at present, and likely no way in the future.
so basically the program to make the sheet is too difficult to make one for the average person. I look at the links for the first post and it's way over my head. I'm just going to have them get a editable pdf and roll on the dice roller.&nbsp;
which now really makes me wonder why I would get pro, since character sheet creation is beyond me.&nbsp;

BRIAN SCOTT said: which now really makes me wonder why I would get pro, since character sheet creation is beyond me.&nbsp; It's a matter of priorities...character sheet creation isn't really beyond anyone who is willing to put in some time to learn basic HTML and CSS. &nbsp;JavaScript is only necessary if you want to make automation in the sheet; but HTML and CSS are pretty basic. &nbsp;In fact many of the sheet authors (myself included) used Roll20 to learn how to do what we are doing (it gave us a real-life problem we had, so more practical than theoretical learning). Most gamers I know are usually pretty intelligent, so learning this skill isn't outside anyone's capabilities...just may not be fast... However, I realize not everyone has a lot of time or desire to learn something like this when there are other alternatives that may work for them. Other reasons to get Pro, though would be the API, which can really streamline your game. It's been a long time since I did any WW games, so not sure if there are any APIs that would help there, but I for one find it hard to work without the API nowadays, because it helps the game run smoother and faster. But, as they say, YMMV.
yea right now I don't have the time to learn how to do anything. The last thing I can do is learn code.&nbsp; I've gone back to free. Thanks for the help though.&nbsp;

The main reason to be Pro is for access to API Scripts. It's not expected that most people will be creating character sheets - thats a lot of work, even for those who know what they are doing. But API scripts are a massive benefit, making playing games much easier. And most have them are very easy to use.
And Dynamic Lighting, with Plus- and Pro-level subscriptions, is a great feature.
