Pro subscription and API

I am considering upgrading from plus to pro and am wondering what peoples opinions are. I am NOT an API scripter and as such would be heavily relying on the 1-click install options. Do most people believe its worth it? Do most scripts get updated successfully when roll20 does updates to their systems? I want to make sure im not creating more of a hassle for myself. 

I see you made your decision. ;-) The good news is that you don't really need to know anything about scripting(coding) to reap the benefits of API scripts.  1-click install will probably cover 99% of your needs and if you can't seem to find a script to fulfill a particular need, you can always make a request on the API forums, either to req a feature addition to an existing script or maybe a completely new one.  The 1-click is very convenient because the code is normally a safe/stable version and it gets updated automatically.
