Adding player custom tokens to game?

Hello! In the interest of adding customisation to my games, I've encouraged my players to make custom tokens of themselves and have given them good tools to do so with. However I'm unsure if then they can add these tokens to my campaign, or if I will need to gain a copy in some way of them to then edit for use. I wouldn't like having to recreate their tokens, but i may simply be misunderstanding the versatility of the system to do so. First time Roll20 DM and still learning the ropes. :)
They can send it to you and you can then drag and drop it onto the VTT. If you want a good way for them to make then try http://rolladvantage.com/tokenstamp/
Just through like a message or something on here or a DM through Discord or the like?
They can also add it themselves to the avatar part of the sheet. Then drag it onto the table top and you as DM set up the token and save as default token to the sheet. After that, they can change the avatar with other art, if desired.

Any way they can deliver the file will work: PM, email, text, thumb drive, etc. They just have to get the image file to you. As GM of the game, you are the only one with permission to drop artwork on the board. Players can only drop their own tokens, and only after the GM has created them. Edit: good workaround for a delivery system, Doug.
Got it, thanks so much!

Probably doesn't matter to everyone, but I like the tokens to be similar in style. If they make their own tokens, they will each choose different styles. So one will be a whole body shot of their character and another will be a headshot. Whereas if you make them, you can make them all similar. I also like to make all of the players tokens with a blue ring and all npc's with a red ring. This way when the players are looking at a combat they can easily tell that the blue is us and the red is the enemy. I used to give "good npc"s a green ring, but discovered that I was giving things away... green ring, oh he's a friendly. So now all npc's get a red ring. Oh yeah, I also like for the tokens to show in the journal, so I save the token as both the token and the avatar, as the avatar is what you see in the journal. My "jump off" page is a collage of the actual pictures they choose for their characters so that they don't feel like I didn't show off the art they choose for their character. You can see that one of them made his own token and the style is different than the rest...

I like Doug's method, and LOVE Patrick's method! Cool thread. There is only that ONE place in Roll20 tabletop that a Player can UPLOAD a graphic --- on their character's bio tab, Portrait slot.
