Set Timezone for a Campaign

I searched through several pages of topics but did not find this one, so I thought I would add it, though I was surprised not to see it. Time and time again I keep running into the issue of having no idea what timezone a certain campaign is, and so don't know if the posted times are actually valid for when I can meet. Many times I have applied to a game with a time I can make, only to find out they are in a zone hours ahead of me, and thus the time is actually in the middle of my work hours. In all, I think that this addition well help both those that wish to join a game, and those who are a GM/DM and help reduce communication time in figuring out who can be in the game and not.
If they use the time on when the next game is it automatically changes for your time zone
That has not been the case for me, but I will check it out to make sure.
I have similar issue... really need to add Time Zone to the My Account/Preferences....
When players see my campaign in LFG, they can read the info which I make sure says "....all my sessions are set to CST." So it really would be easier if all GMs would post their timezones in the main campaign info box. But I do agree that there should be a timezone indicator when we post the time & day of our game sessions.
+1
So is the problem with setting the Next Play Time, or with viewing it? The mechanism that's used is the same one that's used for the forum posts. So for example you should be seeing when I last wrote this post adjusted to your time zone. I'm writing it at 7:58 AM CST, for reference. It's based on whatever your computer's system time is set to.
I travel alot and my timezone changes. Sometimes my laptop keeps up, sometimes not. Knowing the actual time of the game in the GM's timezone would be helpful. Or at least the GMT so I can figure out when the game will be played where ever I might be.
For now get the GM to type it in manually into the info bar up the top. I hope they add the option of "view originating timezone" or "view in different timezone" that way if your timezone doesn't update you just have to click the dropdown menu and navigate to the one that suits your current zone.
Another issue that could arise is if a GM sets up a game away from home, and so it registers where they currently are as the timezone, rather than their home timezone, and so all the times will be off. I think that why everything was not showing up correctly for me. As a web programmer myself though, I have found that doing the transformations in code rather than javascript tends to remove confusion and allows others to understand what time schedules others might have, but is more difficult to implement.
