Dynamic Lighting + AFOW - any way to always show a specific token / part of the map?

I have my map setup with the following settings which are exactly what I want for overall gameplay: Advanced Fog of War - dim light reveals Dynamic Lighting - enforce line of sight, only update on drop Is there any way to always reveal a portion of the map to all players - basically a place to "ignore" the line of sight setting?  The specific scenarios that come to mind are something like showing a map legend or, in my case, displaying an hourglass token everyone needs to be able to keep an eye on. My workaround thought is to just create a secondary token with a transparent image, give everyone control of that token, and then drag it into the same area of the map legend / token I want them to see that is enclosed by dynamic lighting lines.

That's exactly the solution I was going to suggest.  There isn't an alternative.
