Looking for some Old School D&D Adventure? Hi I’ve been running a regular game with a group of friends for about 20 years, and I’ve been gaming about a decade longer than that (I’m 43). My current group of players are used to all my tricks, and I thought since I have a bit of extra time on my hands due to Covid 19, it might be nice to try a game with some different folks. I’d like to get an Old School Style 5e D&D game going here on roll20. I’m hesitant to commit to a full campaign with a group of strangers, so my plan is to run a single adventure, and if that goes well there could be an opportunity for a longer campaign. The adventure I have in mind would probably take several sessions, and would take characters from 1st to around 3rd level. I’m hoping to run this game every other Sunday evening (or maybe every Sunday if I can swing it) starting at 8pm (EDT) and running about 2-3 hours. When I say Old School Adventure, here’s what I mean: - There will be a balance between role play and roll play, but do expect a significant amount of exploration and combat along with rp opportunities. The game will feature classic wilderness exploration and dungeon delving. - There is no particular expectation that characters survive. I won’t be going out of my way to kill PCs, but I do let the dice fall where they may, and encounters aren’t necessarily balanced to their level, so sometimes careful planning, running away and/or clever thinking will be required for survival. - PCs will probably not be as tough as what you might be used to from modern D&D. We will be rolling stats old school (3d6), though I will allow you to start with one stat that is a 15 and roll the other five as well as reroll any stat lower than 8. - I will be using a few additional house rules to give the old school vibe (e.g. a critical fumble table, magic miscast table, and a critical hit table that will allow for special effects in addition to the extra damage a crit normally does). There will be a few other things as well, but I will post them all in a campaign handout. The game will be set in the Lost Lands setting from Frog God games. No familiarity is required for this setting prior to play. If some classic style D&D sounds fun to you then send a post telling me a bit about yourself as a person and as a gamer. I’m looking for 4 solid, fun, reliable players. Newbies are welcome.
I would be interested in playing.  My name is Eric and I used to play D&D back in my teenage years.  Now looking to pick up and learn 5e.  I have some experience using Roll20 and have discord.  I don't mind playing any role the party needs.  Only question I would have is what time zone are you in?
Sorry, I forgot to mention that in my post. I'm in Toronto Canada, so EDT.
I have three of these campaigns running now, if can get a good group of players they will have a Great Time, Good Luck OSR lives on!

Drew, I have not received any replies and new to Roll20. I have the Player Handbook 5th Ed. I lost my book from 1980s. I found dice last night. In old days we had to create character sheets in presence of DM.  I am Story Develpmental Editor n RPd online over 20 years. Over the weekend created a possible backstory, only seeing if dice roll is good favors magic user. Please help. I have Discord.
Well you don't need dice on roll20 because it does all that for you, and we will make characters together in the campaign.

Oh wow thank you. Am surprised your on. I look foward to playing, I am available both days,
Hi Drew, This sounds so fun! I played for a brief time in the early 80's (yep...40 something myself) and I've been playing 5e with a small group of new friends for about 2 years now. (Too infrequently though...hard to get our group together consistently.)  I have such fond memories of "modules."  I've been messing around here on roll20 for about a month and I understand the basics and a little more.  I'd love to join up!
