[LFG] GM looking for players for either a Traveller, L5R or Shadowrun game.

Hey there, I am looking for 3 players for a Traveller, L5R or Shadowrun game. Currently I would prefer playing Traveller but L5R and Shadowrun also have a special place for me so I will add those as well. Now to get down to some of the annoying parts. You will need a microphone to play in the game. You will need to be able to play at 19:00 CEST on Fridays or from 12-15:00 CEST Sundays. Thats the starting times and we will continue as long as the people wish. We will be using skype for sound so that is a must as well. I got several ideas for games depending on system, group and interest. I prefer to run my games as sandboxes and I have no patience for munchkins, powergamers, minmaxers or the like. If you just want to kill things then I am the wrong GM as well since I prefer to get into the RP aspect of roleplaying games. If you are interested drop a post here. Best Regards The Riddler.
Which version of Traveller, I still have all of my LBB
I'm up for playing Shadowrun (let me know which edition - played form SR1-SR3 - happy to play later editions but will need buy a rulebook). I'm also happy to play Traveller but not sure what this means in this day and age - I played the original Traveller over 30 years ago but have also played Traveller 2300 (again about 2) odd years ago). I have no idea what L5R is :) Having said all that my timezone is GMT+1 and I can't do sundays so we may not be able to synchronise on times - but maybe can work something out.
It would be Shadowrun 3 since to me its by far the best edition For Traveller I was thinking the 2008 Mongoose version. L5R is Legend of the Five Rings and we would be playing the fourth edition.
*Poke*
I'm not too well versed in Traveller (read: two to three sessions), and I've never played Shadowrun or L5R (had to google the last one :P) but I'd like to give them a shot! I'm pretty sure 19:00CEST is ~17:00 GMT and I can go for approximately three - four hours. Only, I won't be able to do Sunday since I have another game then. I have a mic and a Skype account set up so that isn't an issue either, though I can be a bit quiet at times since I'm not too used to voicechat RP- most of my campaigns have been text only.
I've never played any tabletop game (exept once played merp with my friends but we where terrible) I do have a microphone, and I'm pretty much willing to play any time, any day. I'm 16 years old and I live in Iceland. If this is going to be an RP heavy game, that's great, I'd say I prefer that to being a marauding band of murder hobos Thanks, -Breki
I am starting a 2008 Mongoose Traveller this friday, but it's full. However the players (8 total) have expressed a desire to find more Traveller since mine runs once a month in rotation with 3 other different systems/ groups. I will pass along this thread, maybe someone might be interested.
Best of luck sorting your campaign out! I currently GM 2 mongoose traveller games and a player in another 2 . If I was less busy I would definitely sign up otherwise. Have fun!

Yeah iam good for both of those days. never played any of those games tho, but i still prefer Traveller. And i would like to join.
Think we will go for Traveller then! Will get a game up and post a link here tomorrow.
I'm down to try a new game, if that doesn't matter! I have no clue what Traveller is, but I'm willing to learn.
Traveller is a "Hard Sci fi" game where it tries to be more down to earth and realistic in the style of the sci fi novels of the 60's and 70's than say Star Wars, or Star Trek. Really it's mostly a toolkit where the GM is encouraged to make their own setting. The characters are fun to generate. It's very deadly, low hit points, no luck points. So any decision to have a fight should be carefully considered.
