everyone! So, let’s cut to the chase, I am BORED. And maybe, just maybe, this
is a feeling you can relate to? I’ve been itching to play d&d for a while
now but I haven’t been able to find a campaign that really appeals to me much.
And so it’s come to this, just throwing myself out there to see if I can find
some likeminded individuals to play with. I’m looking for someone or a couple
of someones interested in doing a story-focused campaign where the focus is on
the characters, their struggles, their wants, their needs, their embarrassing
childhood memories, etc. I tend to prefer campaigns that can keep a nice
balance between light-hearted moments of fun and taking a more serious tone
when the story calls for it. A homebrew setting would be preferable but not a
must, but I’d prefer not to do a grimdark setting, people are doing grimdark so
much nowadays that it’s gotten a bit boring to me. I’ve
considered running a game like this myself but I’ve ended up deciding against
it due to the fact that I’m not the most experienced d&d player out there
(Damn you poor self-esteem!). I’ve played d&d a number of times but one of
two things always seems to happen. Either I don’t enjoy myself one bit because
the campaign is just a railroad from one combat encounter to another, or I do
enjoy myself but the campaign ends up getting cancelled around Lv 5 due to life
interfering for the DM. As such, I am not inexperienced when it comes to
d&d, but I wouldn’t call myself experienced either. I’d
prefer to communicate over discord and I’d prefer not to do a text based
campaign. The campaign being LGBTQ+ friendly is a must and while I won’t be
running the game I STRONGLY suggest that when a group does come together that
triggering subjects are discussed so that we can run a game where nobody has to
feel uncomfortable.
