whisper to all players but exclude GM

I am new here so please forgive me if this has been covered or requested already (I did search and found no references). One of the things our GM does in Google Hangouts is avoid the hangout chat window while we are gaming--which gives the players a place to speak together without interfering with the GM (and do a small amount of metagaming at times).  We are likely switching to using  Roll20 (the GM is currently using PowerPoint and two connections to show maps)--and it would be nice to use the Roll20 chat box without having to resort to keeping that second chat box open.  Granted we could keep the second one open and/or use a different chat mechanism--but I was thinking it wouldn't be that hard of a thing to add in a chat / command that would include everyone but the GM.  It may be a good thing to set it up as an option that the GM can turn on/off if that is possible... Thanks for your efforts--really nice work! Gordon
Mostly of the time i gm games instead of playing them, and i think that is a woderfull thing to have, the game will be a lot more real and funny, if i don't have an idea of how my players will react, or what kind of strategy they will use to defeat an enemy. +1
I have seen somebody suggest the ability to send 1 whisper to multiple people. +1 for this as well
+1, though I'd prefer this be a subset of multi-target whispers. I have run into many situations as a GM where I need to message a few players, but not all, and by the time I'm informing the last player of given information the first one is already reacting to it.
+1 here too, absolutely! I agree with Rafael above. As a GM, it would be a plus to have this for the players!
It'd be lovely if when you type "/whisper" then a dropdown menu pops up of all players in the campaign. Maybe have the option to "shift select" multiple players.
+1
A group whisper or chat window would be nice. If you are using skype, you can always put the group on hold and call the players you want to speak with. I've done that before.
Great ideas here--Luis' drop down menu idea would be great--not sure how hard that would be to implement.  Nice to have as one of the menu options "all players" or something like that too as a shortcut.  As a player I probably wouldn't need anything more than the ability to "whisper" to the GM and "whisper" to everyone else at one time--but I could see how a GM would find the functionality to whisper to multiple people at once (while excluding others) very useful.
We needed these features in our game tonight.
this is possible right now. If the DM wishes the players to have a dm excluded group, he just needs to create a journal entry called groupchat (or something) and assign every player as able to edit. then, when anyone whispers groupchat, everyone able to control and edit groupchat will get the message (and the GM won't, assuming he left himself out of the loop.) Works for languages too, as a side note. set an entry for the language, let ppl who can speak that language have control of it, and vola! you whisper in that language (ie /w orcish ....) and everyone who has control of the orcish sheet gets the message. simple.
I shall test this immediately! Thank you, sounds like a great trick.
