API Scripts Running Very Slow over Last Week

API Scripts Running Very Slow over Last Week I am not sure if this is a known issue, if it is related to dynamic lighting (I don't use it), and/or if it is related to load on the servers. Anyone else experiencing the same? Roll20, if it is load on the servers, can you add more resources soon? If it is dynamic lighting, can that be fixed? It is very bad right now. Thank you!!!
My API keeps crashing.  I have to re start it like 6 time during a 4hrs game

Confirmed a problem for me as well.  Rolling is slow.  API, today especially, is unbearable.  30 second delay to roll initiative for 5 characters with group init.

API response is almost certainly not related to Dynamic Lighting. My guess would be server load, which they have been working on, but isn't an instant fix. It's certainly much better than it was when the Current Unpleasantness started. I've noticed it too. Just gotta be patient.

This has been reported for more than 2 weeks. 2 weeks ago Nicholas (Roll20 Dev Team) said that they were monitoring the issue, but (??) it's still happening. Here are some other currently open threads about it: <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/8404492/slow-responses" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/8404492/slow-responses</a> <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/8545386/very-slow-api-performance" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/8545386/very-slow-api-performance</a>
Pretty much since the new Dynamic Lighting "Beta" update API and Advance Fog of War are completely unusable for me.&nbsp;

Hi all I'm new to to Roll20 pro and have recently starting using API. I'm encountering an issue with API but not sure if it's related to the server issue? I have set up a few sripts, groupinit and tokenmod, token numbering, all which worked fine for a little while then the commands simply stopped registering??? Example: Typing "!groupinti --help" and nothing happens at all.....&nbsp; Is anyone else having this or is it just me?&nbsp; Thanks

I'm assuming that you are not using the version above with the typo, as that would be the reason you weren't getting a response. It's likely you are running into the issue some other reported of the API sandbox crashing. I have had this happen to me a number of times recently, where the crash is silent. There are no error messages, it just fails to respond unless manually restarted.
A good SOP for new people is to have a second tab open in your browser set to the api page of your game. &nbsp;When things don’t seem to be working right, switch tabs, restart the sandbox and try again.

I just had that pointed out to me in another thread. I've often had it open in a separate tab, but it never occurred to me to use a separate window. You can even size it down and scroll so that only the restart button is visible, plus enough of the interface to see if there is a problem.
Having to restart the damn Sandbox Breaks the Immersion of the Game, what the hell are we paying for. Why don't they try and find out what the paying customers really want, instead of adding features that make it look like a video game. WE WANT RELIABILITY! (end of Rant)
I was hoping that this would sort itself out after yesterdays API downtime. Too bad it didn't. :( I agree with the above. Not being able to rely on my scripts is a real downer.

However I resolved this issue by disabling the scripts one by one and found that the token action script I was using was causing the issue. I deleted it and then updated it using a link you posted (I think) on another thread, restarted and boom! :)&nbsp;

Cool! I'm glad it wasn't the latest version causing the problem!

Correct. I linked the threads that were reporting about the same subject of API stalling, so that all of the users could be addressed and answered, and all of their evidence could be compiled and considered to find the cause of the issue. Why do you ask this?

grabbed an error log during game just now, Restarting sandbox fixes it, API Output Console Your scripts are currently disabled due to an error that was detected. Please make appropriate changes to your scripts and click the "Save Script" button and we'll attempt to start running them again.&nbsp; More info... For reference, the error message generated was:&nbsp; There was an error communicating with the QuantumRoll server. undefined

This past weekend ran a game and still encountered this problem.&nbsp; api lag was 30-45 seconds or more for group initiative rolls.&nbsp; Crashed also.&nbsp; Due to lag, it's hard to tell whether I just haven't waited for a full minute to give it enough time to roll, or whether it has crashed.&nbsp; For the last few months the lag and performance issues has made our games choppy, frustrating and less fun for all.
