Certain maps not Loading Properly.

In our game last night, i was a player, we had 3 maps that loaded and worked perfectly. then we had 2 maps that were only white background. the grid still showed, tokens showed up. but the actual map did not. I tried different browsers, firefox, edge, and chrome (was using chrome initially) firefox and edge both have no extensions or anything. Any idea what else i can try? Or is this just a roll20 issue. This is what I see: This is what the other players see: (They took the screenshot for me) I got GM just to check. all my token settings are right. we arent using dynamic lighting. fog of war was off. being GM made zero difference. any ideas what i can do ? I just realized these are 2 different maps. but i had the same issue with both maps. the tokens are just in different locations. but it was 2 different maps that i had that issue with.
Bump, does anyone have any ideas for this?
I have been trying for roll20 to do something about this for literally going on two months. I did get one moderator to admit that this is some kind of bug but they haven't fixed it yet! To me this is a game breaker especially when you have over 160 maps like me.
Hmm... part of the problem might be that many maps in one game. Too many maps (or other elements) will slow things down and lag the game. Maybe it leads to this kind of problem too? Can you make a copy of the game and then delete a bunch of maps in the copy and then see if this map will display?
I have never had a problem with this till a few patches ago. As far as i know there is no limit to how many maps you can have.
Rabulias we have literally 6 maps and 3 of them dont work. so number of maps isnt the issue. lol.
So update ran thru before the game today. Ive tried another account, ive tried my phone in both mobile and desktop mode. with and without wifi. still doesnt work ONLY FOR ME. it works for everyone else in the game. its ONLY me. I legit dont understand. if it was myc omputer, phone should have seen it. If it was my account, another account i havent used in ages, shouldnt have the same issue. if it was internet, data should have cleared it. it makes zero sense to me.
+1; tested it out, thus i can conclude: certain accounts get banned from viewing certain maps. Console says its CORS, but we alle know it's something different.
Yes I agree Its gotta be something on the back end causing this. Like I said I never had a problem like this before the patches. Something was changed that causes this.
Agreed, 6 maps should not be a problem. Other questions: Do you know how you got the map(s) into your game? Did you purchase them on the Roll20 Marketplace? Did you upload them to your Art Library from your PC? Or did you drag them from a search in Roll20? If you uploaded them, are they still listed in your Recent Uploads in your Art Library? If you delete images from here, they are gone. Some users may still see the images due to cached versions. If you dragged them onto the VTT from a Roll20 search, only a pointer (to the image's location on the internet) was placed in your game. If the image was removed from that third-party site, or the site itself is gone, the image is not available. Again, some users may continue to see the image for a time due to cached versions. If these questions do not resolve it, then I suggest following the steps on the Solving Technical Issues page (<a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Solving_Technical_Issues" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Solving_Technical_Issues</a>), especially posting a console log (part of step 4) so the Roll20 devs can see what is going on in your game.
How we got maps? I believe he just did a google search for all the maps and brought them in that way. from art library, ill have to ask the DM will try to follow up.
I have a feeling that your GM just has a pointer and the original image/site is moved or down. I always recommend downloading images and the uploading them to Roll20 whenever possible to avoid losing things like this. Be sure to post back with what your GM finds out.
Yea they said they deleted the images, they havent cleared cache yet to see if they still see it.
Ah. Hopefully they can recover a copy from the cache and re-upload it, or find it again somewhere. It is unfortunate that "Recent Uploads" is so poorly named. It sounds temporary, like it would not hurt to clear things, but it is where all images live.
Yea we are basically done. just gotta loot the bodies on that map and move on. no biggy.&nbsp;
