Looking for DM to Hire

Greetings! I'm looking to hire an experienced DM to run a quest series for a group of 6. Proposed scope = 4-6, four-hour-ish sessions to start, with potential for additional sessions if desired. We're open to different scenarios/maps/worlds etc. The group is somewhat new to DND and would need a bit of hand holding (all of us have a few sessions under our belt, but are 200% n00bs). Preference is for the DM to create characters based on input given by the players (race, age, class, interests, disposition, etc.). I'd like to hop on the phone quickly to connect on a number of details & set expectations. Please let me know your interest-level and ability to commit to the proposed scope. Many thanks & Happy questing, James
What timezone are you in? What days are you available? Time of day on those days/in that timezone?
Hey Jimmy, Firstly, it's awesome you're getting into DnD. I assume you're talking about 5e when you say you're looking for a game and it's a brilliant system to start in. A little bit about me, I am a professional DM based in the UK, but have quite the strange schedule and so am able to DM nearly any timezone. I have a tonne of experience running 5e oneshots and campaigns for groups, having DMd for 5 years on roll20 now with 7700+ hours. If you would like to find out more about me and my services, feel free to check out my Roll20 profile where you can find out more about me and further links to my other social media, and my testimonials from other's that have played in my games. I would be more than happy to run a oneshot (a singular or few session game) for your group so that you can get a feel for my DMing style and what you can expect for a game. Currently I have a horror themed oneshot that is full of monsters, puzzles, secrets and clues, and has lots of twists and turns. This game lasts for about 6-8 hours and is usually done over two sessions. Or I have a high fantasy story based on Jack and the Beanstalk, perfect for beginners and new groups looking for the classic 5e experience which only takes about 4 hours to play through, often less. I also do paid campaigns too if that's something you'd be interested in, but always recommend a oneshot first so there's no long term commitment. I charge £50 a session (which is about $60) and each session lasts up to 4 hours. All my games have dynamic lighting, premium assets, audio playlists, scripts and macros to make the game easier, and just give every game a really immersive feel. If you have any questions about my services, or would like a more indepth look at what I do, feel free to DM me or check out the links on my profile. Hope this message finds you well and that you guys end up finding a great game to get stuck into. Cheers -Billybob
Greetings and well-met heroes! I am The Dungeon Master and I will be your guide in the realm of Dungeons & Dragons! I have been a professional DM for over 5 years and have been DMing for over 30 years total. I have examples of my games up on YouTube and am available for a new (preferably) Friday or Saturday game slot but am open to other days during the week. I have several existing campaigns with 1 spot open in the Pathfinder one two Sundays a month and 1-2 spots open in the weekly 5th edition game on Sundays. In addition I run a Living World Campaign that is always accepting new players. I am happy to teach new players and session 0/character creation is always free. I also have a number of games that I am interested in running such as Diablo (D&D 3.5), Darker Waters, and Game of Thrones (both D&D 5th edition), The Walking Dead (d20 Modern) and Dragon Warrior (using homebrew rules of my own system). Hey Jimmy, I'm currently running several groups through a 5th edition homebrew game. I would be happy to teach all of you the ropes and get you going in a dynamic, unique D&D world where we meet for weekly games. I'll paste the game info below, hope to hear from you and good luck! Our story begins in city of Highguard, where a caravan is assembling to make a journey to the nearby frontier town of Chaur. Normally, this would be an easy trip, but recent attacks from hobgoblin forces have left several caravans looted and burning. In response, the caravan has brought in mercenaries to help with the trip, offering them coin and passage in return for assistance protecting the caravan’s cargo and people. This is where you come in, a skilled adventurer who needs to get to Chaur, and could use a little extra money for your troubles. But take care, because this simple escort job may reveal a much more dangerous problem that threatens the safety of this border town and the simple people trying to survive on the frontiers. About Me I’ve been playing D&D for close to thirty years, primarily as a Dungeon Master. For most of that time, I’ve designed and run my own world on a weekly basis. I also worked in the video game industry and for Wizards of the Coast. If you're looking for a weekly, reliable DM with decades of experience and a proven track record with many happy players and many successful games, I'm the DM for you! I’ve been using roll20 for about six years and am very familiar with the platform. In addition to D&D (2nd through 5th), I’ve run Pathfinder, Dungeon World, Gurps, Star Wars, Shadowrun, and Amber (though admittedly, my knowledge and experience running these is much more limited compared to D&D). I love storytelling and game design, I often try to come up with new and unique mechanics to make the games I’m running more fun (though don’t worry, for this game, we’re mostly sticking to RAW). My Style I like to define my style as structured sandbox. I have events taking place in the world which I insert players into and see how they change things. I enjoy working with and around player back stories, incorporating them into my world and giving their actions weight and substance so the player can feel like they’re part of a living, breathing world. Combat is important in my games, but there is also value to skills and RP ability as those can have a huge impact on the story. I generally try to keep the game running smoothly. If there’s a rule disagreement, I may attempt to look up the answer or I may make a calling and try to keep the story going. If this happens, I appreciate players who can accept the call and speak to me about it later if it really bothers them. The World Gaian is a world strongly connected to the flows of magic that is constantly undergoing change. For an unknown reason, arcane fires ravage the surface of the world every four-thousand years, completely destroying anything in their wake. To save themselves, the races of the surface flee into the depths of Gaian, waiting for a time when they can re-emerge and rebuild their great societies. This destruction has created time periods known as cycles in which great civilizations rise and fall. Perhaps one day a hero will put a stop to these cataclysms, saving Gaian from the never-ending cycles of destruction. The world of Gain is a deep, rich setting that's about 20 years old (real time). As such, it has a lot of history spanning thousands of years with the rise and fall of many civilizations whose ruins can still be found deep underground or in abandon areas of the world. Players will not only adventure within the world, but their decisions may come to shape society for decades to come. This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $12 per person for a three-hour session made through PayPal. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. (Whatever works best for you.)
Appreciate the responses everyone--very excited to embark on a quest under your guidance. Four of us are PST and one is EST. Our ideal time slot is Saturdays between 2-9pm (any 3-4 hour window within that). Please confirm availability for 5/2 and we'll go from there (can provide some context/background on the questers, discuss character creation, get payment details, etc.). Thank you! J
