So the title says it all. This is a one-shot session, where we will do the convention module 'Mines of Madness'. I'll let the writers explain it themselves. "Let us begin by saying: This is not a fair test of the players’ abilities. The dungeon is tragically stacked in the DM’s
favor and built to frustrate, maim, humble, and ultimately kill adventurers. But if the players band together
and use their brains, with a little luck their characters
might survive to tell the tale of how they descended into
the Mines of Madness in search of the Forever Stone and
prevailed..." It's a classic corpse grinder dungeon that we have all heard stories about but never played as the modern game is more character and narrative friendly. This is a chance for us have fun and just see what happens. There is a high fatality rate and a TPK is the most LIKELY outcome of the dungeon. You probably won't win, but you will have a memorable story to take away from it. (SIDE NOTE) It's not a gameplay style I would ever use in a campaign, nor is it representative of normal D&D but its okay in a one-shot. If you're a player that doesn't handle their character dying well, then this might not be the game for you. I won't screw you over, I will just follow the book exactly as written. If you're still with me, then character creation rules are as followed: Level 3 characters, official books only, or Unearthed Arcana within the last 12 months, everybody starts with an extra TWO feats (you'll need them). Min-maxing and metagaming are not only allowed, but encouraged. (no coffee-lock or other blatantly exploits). New-players, I will help you if you need it. I will also have some premade characters in-case anybody doesn't have time to prepare one. Regarding stats, rolling will have to be done in Roll20 supervised by me, otherwise point-buy/standard array can be used. Game time is 6PM GMT Thursday. 30th April. Players can join as late as 5PM. If you're interested, message me with any queries and I'll add you to the discord server.
