New but wanting to try out this out.

Hello all. As of late i been watching a lot of itmeJp Solum and Pendragon on youtube and been Really interested in trying out D&D But i am not really sure how to go about it. Please let me know like i said i would really like to try this out and learn but i am a noob lol Thanks again for any help or advice
I'm new too and want to find people to play Pathfinder with me. It's really similar to D&D 3.5 apparently, but that's the only game I have a general grasp on. If you want I could help you with what I know and we can find a campaign willing to catch us up on the formalities, for lack of a better word. It's super fun and simple enough to understand, my main problem is i have to refer back to notes a lot.
hey Everard. i would be glad to have you help me in any way you could. How do we go about looking for finding a group? And thank you for the responce
hey! im also new and looking for newer players to play with i have played one campaign for d&d 4e and i also like 3.5 and id be wlling to learn pathfinder we could all find a game together if you guys want.
Sure. Also i see people sayind D&D 4E and 3.5 not really sure what that means lol
4e is 4th edition and 3.5 is just a different edition
4e is newer :)
4e is very "Game-like." I feel it's similar to the Diablo game series. In addition, it's very combat oriented (Most of the spells & abilities are combat oriented) while D&D Next, 3.5 and Pathfinder are more Adventure oriented, where most of the spells have an out of combat utility or are not combat oriented at all. Very Role-Play heavy. I would suggest the one of the latter options, as fighting tends to get old quick.
oh thanks I wasnt sure exactly on the differences and i would love to try any one of those but i have played one campaign of 4e and liked it. if i couls find people to play 3.5 pathfinder or d&d next with id play though.
Hello fresh-bloods! You're best bet is to keep trawling the LFG forum for one-shots or campaigns. Use the LFG and make sure you have the 'welcomes new players' box checked. Don't be stuck with just D&D/Pathfinder though! There are other great games out there, but those are the ones you should start with. Games can be as simple or complex as the Gamemaster makes it.
Ok I must drop my 2 cents on this topic. I will speak from many years of Playing RPG's. No mater what system you pick and play... the GM sets a tone and the players add to it. Find good players and GM that will help you thru what ever game you pick first. All systems can be Role Played or even combat tactic played... Find out what makes you happy and then find people who do to. I have learn to play Role play style and in my games I give bonus for it. Love the creative side people can bring but as a GM... I hate spoon feed games. So just think of how much you want to learn at what speed.... dnd 4ed is very easy for new due to that is what they made it for.. simpler game system... then you have 3.5 dnd and pathfinder which are related but pathfinder came after and for the players ... think of it as a up grade... hope this 2 cents have been helpful and go be creative and have fun.....
wow thanks everyone for the very help full. I Really cant wait to find a group and try this out =)
