What is Within the Ring of Fire? Within the Ring of Fire is an indie RPG. It is a dark fantasy setting, new species (though some are familiar), new world, cosmology and pantheon among many others. This game does not use battle grids or minis but rather focuses on description, storytelling and role play (theater of the mind style play). Though the system itself is new and different it is remarkably easy to understand. The quicker you understand the rules, the quicker you can get into creating your Character, a Star of the story. There too, is combat - glorious, gore covered combat. The purpose of this post is to talk with particular individuals that show interest here about what they're looking for in a game, how I run games, if you'd be a match as to what I'm looking for. This will be done one on one, in skype. If you're accepted If accepted you'll be invited onto the campaign page, where listed is content for players. There too, are game themes listed. After you've looked over the material, you make a decision as to what game themes interest you in playing. These games are meant to be 'short story' type games, 3-5 sessions long. Though the more interesting the characters, the more opportunity there will be to continue the story, leading into another game theme. You'll be put in a group of other players that were interested in the same theme as well. The game will be ran using google+ / roll20. Mics are a necessity, webcams are a plus - it is okay if you do not wish to use a webcam. Start times for games will be 5 or 7pm EST. Sessions last approx. 4 hours.
