Separating the Looking For Group Category

Holy moly, it's a jungle in there. You post something and it disappears to the third page before the day is out. We have such an insane influx of new people, they are swamping the LFG thread. I think it may be time to for Roll20 to start looking into separate categories.

Perhaps:

LFG for those between 0-1000 hours.
LFG for those between 1001-3000 hours.
LFG for those between 3001+ hours.

OR

Literal categorization: D&D 3.0, D&D 3.5, D&D 5th Edition, Star Wars, etc.
(This will probably take a long time to categorize)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
However it gets done, I feel the time has gone that it needs done. It doesn't mean that people who have logged over 1000 hours can't look into the 0-1000, but it would mean we can't post new threads in those categories, yet we can post WITHIN threads already there.

Your thoughts??

The current situation is a bit unusual.

If the problem remains after the crisis, I agree that some changes might be needed, but for now some patience and waiting might be a good plan.

I know there has been some talk before of splitting the LFG so it might be a good idea anyway.

As an alternative, could there be a (at least temporary) limit on how often the same game can be posted?

I see some GMs posting the same game there once per day. Perhaps that would solve the problem?

Hi.

There is supposed to be some randomization of the order that LFG's appear (along with other factors Roll20 considers). It's not on 3rd Page just because a few hours passed. If you reload, or someone else runs a search, you might be on 1st page then, even weeks later if it's still listed.

I think that Chandra means the part of the forum (as is is referred to as the Category and threads), not the LFG-listings
