Using Ctrl - L highlights the url on top instead of revealing the players' view

Greetings! I'm probably doing/not doing something obvious, but I used to be able to select a player's token and push Ctrl - L to see what they can see. Whenever I do that now, it just highlights the url on top of the page instead as if I were to type a new url. I am using the free version of Roll20, and I am using FireFox. Any tips? It is quite useful to use that little trick, and now I am unable to. I mean, I know I can re-join as player or mess with the darkness opacity, but any clue why this is happening? Thanks in advance

Dynamic Lighting isn't available for free accounts, so if you created the game, the ctrl-L has the browser default behavior.  If you've been promoted in a game that has Dynamic Lighting, the ctrl-L shortcut will work, but only on pages where Dynamic Lighting has been enabled.
Thanks for the reply, but I'm not sure it is related to Dynamic Lightning. The way it worked for me before (with the free account, in the game I created) was with Fog of War. Normally as DM, I have the overview of the map, including the area covered by Fog of War. Ctrl - L pretty much showed that area in darkness, like players normally see.
Ctrl-L only works with Dynamic Lighting. The GM can clearly see what (regular, not Advanced) Fog of War covers and does not cover without needing a command.

That is not true in my case, Rabulias. I used to be able to press Ctrl-L before, and doing so would cover the hidden area of Fog of War in complete darkness, as opposed to it being greyed out. I found this quite helpful, as it showed actually what players were seeing, but now it does not seem to be working anymore. Edit: It pretty much had the same effect of increasing the opacity of the Fog of War all the way to the max, which is what I do now to analyse players' view. It simply used to be, well, simpler by pressing Ctrl-L.

There are enough free users reporting this difference that it must have acted that way prior to this week. I hope that those with the issue will be patient as I believe this exact use was undocumented and certainly unknown by many.
This issue is happening to me as well, and I am a Pro Subscriber. I think this might have been a recent change to Chrome? Or a regression on Roll20's part.

I have the same issue and it is not about my subscription level. It seems that chrome is now selecting the URL and thus the roll20 feature is  not getting called by chrome. This feature worked for me one week ago.

This has been reported in a number of threads, and the devs have responded. There is no change in Chrome or Firefox; that has been the shortcut to the address bar for years. Ctrl-L was built as a dynamic lighting aid, and still works on any page where Dynamic Lighting is active. It was an emergent behavior, undocumented, and unknown by many (including the dev team) that it also worked for regular FoW, without DL active. A recent change in the code has inadvertently removed this unexpected regular FoW functionality. Hopefully the dev team will find a way to reverse this, but as yet there has been no announcement.
