In Journal, Controllable & Editable

Currently we can assign a character to a journal and we can make the character Controllable & Editable by X number of people. I would like it broken down into: In Journal Controllable Editable I want my players to be able to see their character in their journal & I want them to be able to control their characters. I do not want them to have the power to be able to edit them. I am aware that I can place limitations on their tokens but I do not want my players editing their character sheets. Can the Devs please put this on the to do list?

I am not sure which sections you would like the characters to be able to control but not edit. Could you clarify?
I want them to have control of their token which is linked to the character sheet. I do not want them to be able to edit the character sheet.

Hmmm, I dont think that is possible. I would suggest not linking the token to the character sheet.
I need to link the token to the character sheet for my API scripts to work. This is why I am posting it in the 'Suggestions & Ideas' forum :)

Ahhh, ok. :) Perhaps you can make an API script to prevent editing. Note: my purpose is to help use the tools available. I generally do not comment on the suggestions directly.
The problem seems to be one of trust. If you don't think you can trust your players, you need to get new players. GM to Player ratio here means you do not have to deal with players who can't be trusted. Make copies of the sheets, lock the copies and compare. If you told the players you do not want them to make changes without running them by you there is a "kick this player" function of the details screen.

al e. said: If you don't think you can trust your players, you need to get new players. Sometimes I wish these forums had a "thumbs up" feature. This sentence alone deserves many many thumbs.
Wow... I came in here with a simple suggestion and now I am being accused of not trusting my players? Nice one guys. I do trust my players and for the record we are a mature aged playing group and our average age is somewhere around 35. This is not a trust issue. I want my players to have the freedom of looking at their character sheets and controlling their tokens, without the possibility of accidentally modifying the character sheet. Is this too much to ask without being accused of wrongdoing? I might not bother with any suggestions in the future.
I don't think anyone meant to accuse you of anything, but I think a lot of people have had experiences with the kinds of players you just can't trust and assumed you were dealing with that kind of issue. It's a sad reflection on the state of humanity, but it is what is is. Your suggestion has come up before somewhere I think(don't remember when), and I support it, as I made some rather complex abilities and would like to be sure that my players can't accidentally screw them up....
I support the suggestion too. Whether you can trust your players or not is irrelevant, having "controllable" and "editable" seperate is an obvious useful feature for any GM.
