Monster Tokens - numbering monsters

I am having trouble with multiple monster tokens, mooks I guess they are called. When I drag several to the map, I would like them to numbered; goblin1, goblin2, etc... As it is I have to keep track of them. I understand I can hover over them in the turn window and highlight them, but if we play theatre of the mind, it gets tricky keeping track. is there an easy way to do this without opening each one of them and adding a number?

Nope. Potentially use different token for each one? That's an option for some mooks. Perhaps a rollable table .... hmmm, now you've got me thinking. I'll have to tinker with this tomorrow. In the end, the answer is still Nope though...without some work on the front end setting things up (creating unique tokens or creating rollable tables).
Assuming no use of the API, yeah, there's no easy (easier) way to do this than to hand-number each mook. With the API, I would assume it's just a matter of a few lines of code (although I know nothing about coding and couldn't possibly begin to tell you how to do this.) I use rollable tables to make each of my critters look different, but yeah, sometimes that's not enough. I'd love to be able to just drag and drop and have each one automatically counted, but... nope. Not gonna happen any time soon I'm afraid. Oh well.
I tend to use the color dot overlays to differentiate between the same type of mook. Then I address their colors in the turn order tracker.

Oh come ON! How could no one have made the "Red Five Standing By" joke?!

Stop stealing my player's jokes before they can make them! ;)

The "Add Custom Item" field on the Turn Order Settings window allows you to add whatever text you like. I've presented it one way using one color overlay with numbers. The other way, I just use the colors themselves to differentiate mobs.
