Need a character sheet/stat block for my players in Ghosts of Saltmarsh

So my players have managed to steal a Keelboat in GoS and promptly named it.  Now they need a character sheet for this boat so they can keep track of repairs and such.  However, the boat is listed as Keelboat and Longships and will not drag and drop into a character sheet.  Also, I am unable to drag and drop a keelboat to any map in this manner.  I had to use a different token from the internet and assign it to a Keelboat because apparently the content I paid for is unavailable to me. How do I get this keelboat character sheet for my characters?

The Keelboat is a character sheet. Character sheets cannot drop onto other character sheets. Edit the sheet (press the Edit button on Upper Right of journal) so that permissions exist for all players. The Keelboat will exist in all of their journal tabs then, and they can open and edit it and control its token. If you wish to keep their keelboat separate from other keelboats, duplicate the sheet and rename it first. If no keelboat sheet appears in your journal tab, verify that you have created the campaign from the base module before adding any addons.
Why could we not edit the NPC sheet to display the relative needed fields? For custom ships. I am making an attempt, but struggling to get the toggling of VEH stuff to work.

Did you drag the character into the campaign? Until then it is just a compendium entry and uneditable. Drag it in first like it was any other creature. The token (floor plan) will appear on the map and the statblock will be editable by anyone who has permission to do so, as above. As for adding needed fields, you can add rows to repeating fields such as traits or actions, but you cannot add new types of fields without redesigning the character sheet. Traits should do what you need if you are keeping track of repairs.
