White bar to the left of my video screen

There appears to be a white bar cutting off some of my video on my video feed. Can still see my face, but it's just annoying. Have cleared browsing on Chrome, refreshed etc, but I think it's only a roll20 problem?

Same issue. Only seems to be Chrome and Roll20. Firefox works on Roll20 and Chrome seems to work otherwise. Doesn't seem to be all Chrome users. One of my players is working fine with Chrome.

Hello Davina C., Please carefully work through to the first three steps of our guide to Solving Technical Issues : Step 1: Make sure to use the right browser. Please check if these issues persist when using both Chrome and Firefox. Step 2: Ensure that there are no extensions/addons interfering with Roll20. Please disable all add-ons/extensions. Step 3: Clear your cache If none of the above succeeds, please work through (or have your player thoroughly work through) Step 4. (Don't forget the complete Console Log!) If you need additional information on how to capture a console log we have additional information here: Submitting a Console Log in Firefox Submitting a Console Log in Chrome Thank you!
Can you post a screenshot of the problem? Someone else might recognize it.
I'm having the same problem except it is a blacked out section to the left. Only happens in Chrome. Just started today. The extensions are turned off. Restarted my computer. Checked the camera software. The problems goes away using MS Edge. Weird
The camera window has a blocked out area to the left ( in my case black) . It wasn't there last week and nothing on either my computer or browser has changed.
Now for the stranger part. I'm using the same browser ( Chrome) on my laptop, so I logged in there. The black bar issue went away on that computer using the computer's internal camera. On my desktop computer , I am using a Logitech C290. The driver is up to date and no other changes have been made. I unistalled the camera through the device manager and reinstalled it and rebooted. This didn't help. Black bar still there.
Same issue, cant find an answer
Yea can confirm same issue, same browser worked last time I played 2 weeks ago.
For folks that are experiencing this issue: When you go to "My Settings" > "Game Settings" > "Chat Tech", is Roll20 WebRTC selected? Is this only happening in one game or across multiple? If you download the "WebRTC Debug Log" from when this error occurs and paste the information here, that may help us investigate further. Otherwise, as FoeAndArrows mentioned, we would need to ask for your help in grabbing console logs from chrome at the time the issue occurs.

Saw it last Thursday (4/23) yesterday, and today. Switching to firefox seems to work. But Chrome is my primary browser. Roll20 WebRTC is selected. (Have not changed any of these settings besides a few display/receive all/nothing) and restarts.

Having the exact same problem using a Logitech C270 (yes, it's old, but it's worked flawlessly for years on every app ever). Didn't have the problem using the same game, same PC, same browser literally last week. Thought the camera was dying... confirmed it works outside Chrome. Dowloaded the WebRTC log and it's empty (currently testing in a game with no other players): ----- Personal LOG ----- Loading Roll20 Chat Event Handlers Number of other Players: 0 Broadcast Type: both Receive Type: both Started local media ---- END Personal LOG ---- WeRTC isn't an option to disable/enable for me - it's just... what Roll20 does now (has been for years if I'm not wrong?). My camera looks exactly like the screenshot someone posted above - black bar down the left half. Yesterday the other players confirmed they didn't see the bar - that's just where my camera cut out, so it looked like I was using a phone in "portrait mode" and everything was stretched to fit the square layout.

after doing a little digging I went into google. go to the linear 3 dots on the top right of any google web page next to your browser bar. mini window opens and go to settings near the bottom and open. then open advanced settings, then system. turn on "Use hardware acceleration when available" and hit relaunch. should reload and fix the problem. worked for me last night. hope this helps you all out as well
Thank you folks, could I ask ask for webcam make/model, Browser and OS as well? This seems to be Chrome specific and may be remedied by following Chad's suggestion pertaining to Hardware acceleration from above.
@Chad B. THANK YOU! This has been buggin me! Fixed for me!
Logitech C920, Chrome, Windows 10. Turning on hardware acceleration fixes it, but I'd prefer it works with either as there's other things I use which need that disabled and it'd be a pain to keep switching between them.
Hardware Acceleration enable worked for me too, thank you :) Still keen to hear of a fix that doesn't involve having it on however!
Logitech C920, Chrome, Windows 8 Hardware Acceleration enable didn't work
Logitech C920, Chrome, Windows 10
hardware acceleration did the trick for my C920 as well. Thanks a bunch, that sure was an odd one, like the whole view was shifted to the right.

The Logitech C920 is a webcam that comes up often with problems. It's either problematic, or just so darned popular that it gets mentioned more than any other.
Can confirm that this is a problem with Chrome, most likely. I've switched to the Chromium based Edge browser and the camera works fine there.
