How do I give NPCs the ability to attack characters?

I've found several threads discussing it, but they're all locked and I can't seem to figure out how to make this happen. I'm using the 5E DND character sheets. Below are screen caps of what I've done to try and get the NPC to have the ability to attack. I'm new to Roll20 and I've largely been rollling my own dice and just telling the players if they're hit, but it would be less troublesome if I could get the game to do it.

Is there a reason you are not using the available free NPCs? Or at least using them for a model? Most of them have clickable attacks.

If you click the attack names, it will roll the attack

My NPC folder only has the ones I've created. I've tried dragging monsters in from the compendium, and they don't have the ability to attack either.

If you alt + double click the token of one dragged in from the compendium it will open the character sheet.  You can click the attacks from there.  If you want them to pop up from the token you’ll need to do some research here or ask questions about how to create token actions.

They have attack buttons available on the character sheet , you need to press the name of the attacks. You're talking here about Token Actions , which are not created automatically as far as I know. Due to how attacks are part of repeating sections, I'm not sure if you can make them automatically appear, but other buttons like Initiative could probably be set to appear as a Token Actions by default.
Ok. I get it now. Thanks for the help guys.

That makes more sense. You might find this useful: NPC Statblock Chat Menu for D&D 5e sheet — No API required!
