While I know that you can boost your subscription up to the 10 to 15$ level and find someone's script for the dice mechanic; are there any plans for an official code that's available to every subscriber?

Probably because it's new and still growing, using an interesting but novel mechanic. You have framed this as a somewhat passive aggressive question - I'm sure there's a good suggestion in there, but if you phrase it more as a request backed up by reasons for it being a useful addition I think you'd be better at getting the message across.

Last I heard, no there are not currently any plans to make the API available to Supporter or Base accounts. The system is still very much Beta, anyway.

You can be a basic free roll20 user and have a wonderful Edge of Empire Dice roller. Just launch your games in google hangout. There is a hangout version of the dice roller app for free.
