Game Day With the Original 1978 Version of Gamma World! Start Time: 9:00 AM PDT / 4:00 PM GMT Duration: 5 hours, +1 hour optional buffer, if needed to finish. Voice: Voice will be run on Discord Everything Else: Roll20 is used for everything else: character sheets, maps, handouts, music, and sound effects It's time to socialize and take a break from the news. I put it to a vote and the players voted for Gamma World , the original 1978 version from TSR; so that's what we're playing -- this Sunday. And You are welcome to join us! Again, this is a one-time session, a game day to have fun and socialize. We'll be using a module co-written by Gary Gygax himself. As always for my games, the primary rules for interaction are courtesy, patience, acceptance, tolerance, and having respect for everyone. Newbies are welcome. Games are always free. Having the rules is never required. And for one-off social games like this, characters will be provided. All you need to do is show up, ready to have some fun. For those that would like to know more about Gamma World , here is a Link  to the Wikipedia page for a bit of background (again, no need to buy anything. Characters will be provided.). You just need Discord, and a Roll20 account, both free.
Gamma World sounds like a riot!  Definitely interested in trying it.
We're using a very dated version, but it should be fun. Like stepping back in time. We did play some games of this back in the day I recall, and it was fun. But like I said in the post, this is a low-key just let's have fun social day, using a module from the man himself, Gary Gygax. I sent you a PM with a link to the Discord server. Once you're in Discord, we'll go through with next steps. I probably won't have characters done until just before the session. The first thing we'll do is probably roll dice and then people will choose in order. See you in Discord.
This sounds like a blast! Gamma World has recently peaked my interest and this has come at a perfect time! I've never played it or older editions of D&D so I hope that's not to much of a problem but I am down to learn.
Heya Mitch, -- same as I said to Pat. Check your private messages for the Discord server link. -- Newbies in any context are always welcome in my games. I'm a perpetual newbie myself and I've been doing this for years.  I don't recall much about GW other than we had fun (but we had fun with everything). I'm sure it will be fun. It's a whole story arc and we'll only be able to get through a portion of it. But as I said, we have no goals other than to take it easy, explore a world, socialize and have fun -- get a nice break from the news and/or sequestration. Please get on that Discord link so that I can get you both set up and in game as confirmed players. I have a limit on head count and already have a few from my sever in game already.
Hi John! Thanks again for a great game! May I play that same character again? I have an idea for a potential strategy. Also, maybe buy a decent-sized, adequate knife, maybe make sure I also get a handgun. Thanks again, everyone. and have a great rest of your weekend!!! ~John
Dear Solanio, I hope I did not offend anyone? If I did, I'm very sorry about that. Could I still play? Thanks for your consideration, ~John

Hi John, You didn't offend anyone. I think everyone enjoyed your participation. I think Ollie was amused that you killed off his wounded character by using your life leech (just gotta remember that it affects everyone in its radius, not just enemies). As stated at the end of session, since you guys really want to see the story play out, I agreed that we could continue a session or two more as needed (I'm just offering these as a way for folks to socialize, so it really doesn't matter to me what we play). Right now though, I don't have a date because next I'm setting up a board game session, and then after that I can set a new date for Gamma World . And yes, I assumed you'll play the same character again. - Resent you the Discord link and we can chat more about it there instead of here.
Great! See you then and there! By the way, did Whisk survive, or...? He seemed like a really neat character, a modern folk art sculptor...with possible "thief"-like or technology capabilities?
