Hello folks I'm an older gamer and reasonably veteran storyteller (which I prefer over 'GM'). My current campaign is 16 sessions in and going quite well, but one of the players will have to leave quite soon, due to a change in work scheduling. Since we are already a group on the small side, I'm considering expanding it by two players. To preserve some gender balance, I would prefer at least one female-identifying player. A couple would certainly be considered. We would like to see any players to join us to be mature (age 25+ is probably a good idea), with a reliable schedule that is not likely to change for at least half a year and preferably much longer, since the campaign doesn't have a set end date. Being able to game in your own space, without interference of work, family or the like is similarly appreciated. Push-to-talk would likely be a good idea. I suspect that we would be fine with someone who has some catching up to do on Forgotten Realms lore (since the campaign is very plot-heavy), but we're looking for people who are comfortable with expressing themselves through RP. As such, totally new gamers are probably not a good fit for us. Although we are playing in the Forgotten Realms and using 5th edition D&D, we're actually set some two centuries before the default time period for the edition - during the years just ahead of the Time of Trouble. It's the late 13th century (Dale Reckoning, of course), and Impiltur is a country in some trouble, even if they don't realise it yet. What started with a simple request to ascertain the whereabouts of a Herald who had gone missing has led the players so far on a bit of a wild goose chase. They are currently guests at the Hall of Loyalty, where they are trying to keep an eye on a fellow guests of the Tormites, who is teacher to a young VIP they discovered upon their arrival. But that's only the beginning... It hasn't really mattered in the story per se, but I would like to mention that our group is a safe space. No bigotry will be accepted, and (it is fair to say), none so far has occurred. Sure, characters may face some troubles (our wood elf, for instance, is not always accepted with as much grace as one might expect), but the players are at ease and certainly welcome to express themselves in confidence. We play on Thursdays, 8pm-midnight GMT (3pm-7pm EST). The time isn't flexible right now, and with the existing players all located in Europe, it's certainly not going to change to a later timeslot, even if we might conceivably change the day. We operate in English, with myself the only non-native speaker. A comfortable command of the language is thus a practical requirement, but an accent should not pose a problem. The game is almost entirely theatre of the mind, supplemented with some scenic pictures of landscapes and NPCs. We're running the voice components of the campaign, and much of the text communications through the week, over Discord, and use Roll20 for moodboards and dice rolling. I hope to get to know any interested parties first, and only once I feel whether the group would suit you will I be interested in character ideas, so please - hold off on proposals for now! I'd love to hear from you in private (messaging in the thread that you've sent me something might help alert me, of course), and once things look promising, I will do my best to set up a chat over Discord. Looking forward to hear from you, Pat
