Hello there! I am, as the header may suggest, a rather new player to DND and also someone who is completely new to Roll20 and how it works. I have played in three shorter campaigns (although they were ended prematurely for various reasons such as life becoming hectic for other players and the DM not wanting to play anymore) but I have consumed quite a bit of media involving DND so I know how the majority of the game works but I do not claim to know everything about the game. I will also admit to not being very familiar with a lot of the canonical lore of DND, although I am very willing to learn if it is required for the campaign. I would prefer a group who are of a similar age group to myself (being 20 or older). I am Eastern Standard Time for reference. Honestly, I would enjoy a campaign which has a nice mix of roleplay and combat elements (not being solely about the combat but really allowing the characters to talk and interact with their world aside from just killing everything). As stated in the header, I'm looking for a 5e game to join as it is what I am most familiar with. As far as homebrew vs module, I would honestly favor homebrew a bit more than a module. However, that is more of a preference than a strict 'no' to any modules. I am available throughout most of the week reliably, but do have a preference for playing sometime on Friday or Saturday. I am flexible on this, however. Not looking for a paid game. I do have Discord. I should also include that I do have a character I've been dying to play (too many character ideas not enough DND). If the DM was willing to homebrew a little with me I would prefer playing a gnoll but if not, the race doesn't matter quite as much as long as I am allowed to play one of the more monstrous races (orc, half-orc, hobgoblin, bugbear, etc.). The character that I would be wanting to play would be a NG Oath of Redemption Paladin with more of a focus on roleplay than combat. (Actively trying not to kill as much as possible, solving things with words and understanding rather than killing, and such.) I would very much enjoy being able to use this character in a campaign, so I felt like I should include him here. Although, while I would be excited to use this character, I can certainly use other characters as well! It isn't a line in the sand to use him, of course. Anyways, if anyone out there is interested, I look forward to hearing anything back!
