Pull up a seat weary traveler! TL:DR - New player looking for group. Basic understanding of 5e rules, Discord available and a little experience with the Roll20 UI - so I won't be a complete shambles and distraction to your game! Looking for regular play ideally. UK based so GMT+0. Not typically one for forums so hopefully I've abided by the proper etiquette - apologies if not... I'm a relative newcomer to D&D and managed to hoodwink a few friends into playing, however I drew the supposed short straw and ended up as DM. I Love cat herding playing with our little group but as a couple of the players are about to welcome into the world their very own lvl 1 human I suspect the sessions will become significantly less frequent in the near future. With that and the ongoing lockdown, I figured now seems like a good time to see what the other side of the screen looks like. I'll also be forever thankful I just need to remember one characters voice... Recently lost a player? I'm happy to fill a roll within a pre-existing group. Or perhaps you're getting your party together for a brand new adventure and could use a little extra muscle - as the boss said - this guns for hire. I'll be coming at this without a specific character in mind so happy to discuss with the group and DM what works. I'm also not necessarily tied into a fantasy setting - I'm a big fan of sci-fi and wild west genres as well so if you've reskinned your game that sounds fun to me - the only considerations here are that I don't have experience of game systems beyond 5e and given that I'm UK based and work Mon-Fri daytime - I'd be looking for evening / weekend sessions as well. DMing for our group means I've got a relatively decent grasp of the basic 5e rules. I'm equally happy to pick up any homebrew tweaks you may have. I've never played outside of our group, and never as a PC. Given the entire group was green means I've probably fallen into some bad habits and learned some bits "wrong" though, so happy for a little nudge and gentle correction where needed. Our group typically meets up in person to play but with the recent social distancing bits we've played online. This means I'm also set up with Discord and a decent mic. PHB? Check. DMG and MM? Check. I've got a basic understanding of the Roll20 UI as well but happy to learn more if it's required. That just about covers the basics - but hopefully there's enough there for you to go on!
