Have a virtual clap for our keyworkers. Lots of people out on our street joining in, and I'm slightly encouraged by the lack of cynicism around it!
So say we all!
Ross M said: Before the meeting Hogarth would probably had a conversation similar to this. For today’s performance the part of Lady Emblyn will be played by Whoopi Goldberg. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E1V07137IWw Star Trek was so good! I've not been very impressed at all with the new stuff
I vaguely enjoyed the third new trek film. Have yet to see any of Discovery (Is that what its called?) Picard looks promising, but so would Patrick Stewart reading a phone book.
It's not that I think it's bad - it's more that it's not star trek to me, it feels more like something marvel would make. Discovery had some interesting ideas and I like the klingons, but.. it doesn't solve it's problems in a star trek like way. Picard to me came across as such a dramatic personality change that again, it didn't feel like Star Trek, just a fairly decent generic sci fi.
Substitutions: Rice: Nothing Pasta: Nothing Potatoes: Nothing Spelt: Nothing Flour: Nothing Anyone got any recipes for Lentils, I'm going to be eating a lot of them over the next fortnight!
Im going to hop on actual computer later to finish 495 and give you some sci fin recommendations, so I will have a look. Apparently Cauliflower rice isn’t terrible?
Drawing a recipe blank. But I have been trawling interesting Sci Fi films on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APFP1OsV02Y
Dhal. Lots and lots of Dhal
That's the plan so far!
Did you get my pm @SleepyWill?
I did not, no
Interesting title they picked here... https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=emb_title&v=ZXueCoW9NVI
I do like Inkle's writing, they are very good. Last day of quarantine, I've been 7 days symptom free! Hurrah! Luckily I had the dogs back with me early on once it was confirmed they can't catch it, so I've had some company, but for me, lockdown will be an upgrade!!!

Glad to hear you are on the mend! I was wondering, but I did not want to pry. Out of curiosity, any word on the cat?
The cat is adjusting to tailless life well, especially for a 15 year old! It hasn't hurt his hunting ability and in fact, his new diet, he's lost so much weight he's looking healthier than ever!
So, I’m assuming you now have some kind of level of immunity?
Oh, something I read piqued my interest and thought Scribbs would be interested/might already know. Evidently, because there is less movement occurring around the world, we are generating fewer vibrations to the point seismic readings are being picked up from a farther distance away than normal due to the lack of interference! They are also saying the same is true in water/oceans as well. In my non-expert opinion, it would be a unique opportunity for the CHPPs project, but I fear that might be a sore subject... To end this message on brighter notes: I saw a bald eagle fly (rather low to be honest) right over my house this morning. Did not even stop for the bunnies and squirrels in the yard! I saw shocked, and so were the fluffy critters! And my wife is going to try and GM the Princess Bride RPG with some friends. I still need to pick my character...
Ross M said: So, I’m assuming you now have some kind of level of immunity? That's an assumption no doctor is confident enough to make. There are, at the very least, two strains already, and immunology isn't that straight forward. We'll see in the coming weeks and months how many people get reinfected in China and South Korea before we get a better idea.
The data collection for that project has all been gathered anyway, and the point is to look at reactions to specific activities (i.e. pile driving). We were supposed to be starting another long term hydrophone deployment this month that has been postponed - the drop in shipping would have been very interesting in terms of ambient underwater noise levels.

Well, that is good news as the lack of activity would have really messed up the data (or that is my assumption). Scribbs said: We were supposed to be starting another long term hydrophone deployment this month that has been postponed - the drop in shipping would have been very interesting in terms of ambient underwater noise levels. It would be really interesting to see what the baseline 'Quiet' level would look like. There have been several new 'stories' (more like snippets) discussing scientists trying their best to use what resources they have to collect data during this unique event.
Those that are lucky enough to have moorings already in place will have some interesting datasets. Biggest issue is probably servicing them. Data storage is only finite, so at some point recorders will get filled up and need turning around.

That's pretty cool!

Just thought you might be interested to see the modern day map of about where you are right now:
What could possibly go wrong with that location?
Can I swear here?
I think so!
Ballllllllllllllssssss!
Sword in the stone
Is there any interest in trying to arrange an online session at some point? Like via discord or something? Not sure if there would be a time or day that would work for everyone, might be the most challenging thing though?
I would be up for that, my work is quite flexible but 6pm - 10pm is out for me, any time than that and I'll be there!
6pm-10pm which time zone? 😊
Sorry, British Summertime!
I can be online at any point during office hours monday for our duel griffster. I’ll be at work but can fire up roll20

I just wanted to give everyone involved a quick status update. This last week has been intense. Due to Covid, our surprise third party audit is actually scheduled for today and we knew it in advance for once. Well, that has caused our QA/QC people (who are new to the responsibility/accountability roll due to some internal promotions earlier this year) to start panicking and shit was falling through the cracks; so, I had to take care of some of the stuff they were missing/'too busy to deal with'... :eyeroll: This has left me on fumes at the end of the day, but at least after today I should have the mental energy to participate fully instead of just catching up/reading along.
We understand, don't worry! Glad improvement is on the horizon, I miss your posts!
So, it sounds like there is time to tackle one of the quests on the list; do we have a comprehensive list of loose end quests? Ones I can think of (I feel like I am missing a lot of information, please let me know if any of these are resolved): 1)Owain's wife and Cubeth's sister missing 2)A letter from Clatford for the Earl and 3) The missing Black Mail 4)Investigating Men of the Hood 5)Strange occurrences in the Solent (rumours of Merpeople) 6)

6) Some knights pledged to serve the church - there's nothing to do just at the moment, but do highlight interest in this if you want too 7) The haunted villa of Cholderton 8) The being on the bridge that Dylan fought 9) The Cambrian children's story might ring true for one of you? 10) It doesn't have to be something mentioned, maybe you wnat to send scouts to check out one of your neighbours in these turbulent times... maybe you want to infiltrate the blackened knight order, see what they are talking about, maybe you want to kick the Fae off the channel islands and build a fortress there... the possibilities are pretty endless!
Cool. I was just wondering what others had interests in as well. Did not want an option accidentally left off the table for in the future. I see there was a reply in the main thread already about someone wanting to move on. Is anyone else interested in trying to tick something off the list?
Another two: Chasing smugglers around Avalon There's a fae plaguing Sir Arnold's manor I'm interested in tackling any of the loose ends, but I guess we have to move on if group consensus is required?
Ooo, I forgot about the Avalon smugglers...

Scribbs said: I guess we have to move on if group consensus is required? I'm hoping I won't have to formalise anything, but just to fore-warn you all, there will be years where if you pass on doing anything, you'll straight up skip a year. We'll end winter, I'll ask if there's anything you want to pursue, if the answer is no, we'll go straight to the next winter. I'm not saying that next year is one of those years, but next year is one of those years. You'll notice that this year was very light on gameplay for a very similar reason - this is what I've been talking about - the Uther period is a period of extreme railroading, it's a tutorial era, and an era to build personal stories in, but now it changes. The GPC has a full section in between the two eras discussing how to weave your own threads into the campaign, and this is the moment I was saying that every pendragon game I've ever followed fails at this point because the game changes so dramatically and becomes so much more open ended. That's why I was so pushy about promoting you, involving you in multiple threads that were left hanging etc, I've run the GPC twice before and learned my lessons!!! I think though that if we genuinely can't get a unanimous decision, with no clear majority, I'll probably just roll a die to decide. One thing I absolutely won't do, after my previous attempt is running two adventures simultaneously. That was far too much strain on me, and both adventures suffered. I've no problem with one of you running a simultaneous adventure though, the adventure you ran for Dylan and Taron was superb!
Can we swap playable knights?
I can't think of a reason why not!
Also; There's one Salisbury manor missing a resident knight and another of free men might worth overseeing. A quick check of church records for reasons Romantic wooings for Taron.
Id definitely be up for doing some quest. As well as the 'wooing' (well, the wooing has been done, it's getting the father's approval!!) I'd be interested in maybe working with our new Spymaster if there are any threats to our Lord and Lady.
Owain needs to settle into the role of Spymaster before he can direct too much, but would suggest that tackling the first adventure on the list addresses a potential issue of internal security. The ladies disappeared from Sarum. It might not be such a reach to suggest that there could be unscrupulous people within the city that could be induced to act against Lady Ellen and her son.
Do we all have to do the same adventure? Sir Arnold would be willing to assist Owain, but Hogarth would be more Inclined to travel to Zummerzet.
No, but given that I can't run two simultaneously, that leaves limited options: 1) Those not playing wait for their turn 2) One (or more) of you write and runs one of the adventures - I'll do as I did with Dylan and Taron's intro adventure, provide a loose guideline, boundaries etc and let you go for it, being on hand to help if necessary Remember, we've also ruled out any player participating in more than one adventure per year, even with multiple characters, for more than one reason that I don't want to rehash here, but I would be open to discussion around this. None of the players here now were the reason behind the change of that rule so I would welcome that talk if it's desired.
