D&D 5e Character Sheet Version detail?

This is my first time as a DM on Roll20.   I would like to make it as easy on my players (and me).  I have the maps in place.  Now I need to put my bad guys into the world.   I have been trying to create "simple" macros.     To do this I need the attribute names for the NPC created by Charactermister (spelling?).  I have found some in the general documentation.   Part of the problem I am not sure what version of the sheet I am using.   How do I figure the sheet version I am using and what the names of the attributes are on the Character sheet and the Attributes/Abilities Pages for Player and NPCs? Thanks for the help!

Hi GregDC, and welcome! Some random answers, since there were a lot of questions in there. :) You can see the name of the sheet you are using on your game settings page. Since you are new, I would recommend the D&D 5th Edition by Roll20 sheet if this is not already the one you are using. It is not the most powerful sheet, but it is the most compatible with everything else on Roll20 Charactermancer is only used for creating PCs, or NPCs with full blown PC character sheets. The overwhelming majority of NPCs are built using the NPC sheet. You have a ton of pre-built  NPCs (monsters) available in your Compendium tab. If you have not purchased a compendium such as the Monster manual, these will be with out art, lore or tokens, but all of their abilities and actions will be on their sheets, completely ready to go with a click. If you want a one-stop fits all macro for NPCs, I would suggest using the macro described in this thread: NPC Statblock Chat Menu for D&D 5e sheet — No API required! However, it is explicitly designed for the official Roll20 sheet and will not work with any other. If you are using the Shaped sheet, it has built in commands for this sort of stuff. Most attribute names (with the exception of the repeating ones—ones that are in expandable lists) can be discovered by hovering over them.
