Random Table in Spell

Hi, I set up a random table for effect type and now I would like to add this table to the spell damage type. Is that possible? Details: I added a spell to a D&D5e Character Sheet. I added - the damage 2d8 - the damage type 1t[Random-Table-Effect-Type] And casting the spell the attack sheet shows (14 damage) (1t[Randon-Table-Effect-Type]). Though I hoped it would show (14 damage) (cold) Any ideas?

Solved it. [[1t[Random-Table-Effect-Type]]] And I am using the same value for two rolls like this: [[?{Modifier|1t[Random-Table-Effect-Type]}]]

Using a query with a roll inside it (like a roll on a table), wont generate the same result each time. Though if you are intending to get different rolls, that's perfect. When I try that query I get an ugly text box. If you change it to this, you get a nicer looking label [[?{Modifier|LABEL,1t[Random-Table-Effect-Type]| } ]] Change the text LABEL to whatever you appear in the dropdown. The dropdown will have two entries, the first LABEL entry and an emoty second item. Dont select anything - when the drop down enters, just click enter or the submit button to accept the table roll.
@GiGs Very cool answer, thanks
