Recommended size of maps/handouts

Hi All, If I understand well, Roll20 isn't based on data exchange between a GM hosting and player clients (as would be Maptool or Fantasy Grounds II). Instead, the GM upload (usually in advance) a map and handouts to the server, which is then broadcasted to players when they connect to the campaign. Am I right? If so, what is the max recommended size of a map and handout to not slow down the game for players? For ex, my experience with FG2 taught me that a map cannot be more than 300ko, and a handout better not be over 150ko so that the sharing is nearly instant with players. Thanks in advance Ceodryn

I am not sure what the unit 'ko' is but, you can upload anything up to 5MB in size. Note: huge transparencies (.png) may cause slow rendering so be careful there.  - Gauss
Sorry, ko = kb in French speaking regions. Alright, so 5MB but jpeg would actually not slow down the game? I applaud you guys if it's the case that Roll20 can deal with such a map, and 5-6 players, because a 5MB jpeg map could have tremendously amount of details and resolution, which isn't possible with maptool or FG2. I look forward to try it out.
