textures as backgrounds?

Why not have some common textures for background choices in addition to colors? Like a few grass textures for outdoor scenes, or various types of floors for indoor? I know I can import maps, but this would be a quick and easy solution, and I could just draw stuff over the quick-map background.
I like this idea =)
100% yes, anyone have tips to make background without all the copy pasting?

Chris - When you place a texture on the background layer, you have two handles, a green one (resize) and a yellow one, which will tile the image as much as you need.
^ I could really have known that yesterday. But this gives me hope for the future! Thanks :D
Using the "yellow handle" on a texture to fill is a neat feature, but I would like to have a quick option to automatically fill to the furthest extents of the map. I could change my zoom settings then drag the texture to fill...but I'd like to see a one-click solution. It would be nice to have a few quick, representative textures as options alongside the background color choices in the page settings.

Allowing a texture background would also mean you'd have a textured "floor" to your maps that you'd never have to worry about inadvertently selecting and moving individual tiles.
I agree with this. The yellow handle isn't very accurate, either. Every time I've used it, it has failed to fill the extents of the map, and have had to manually copy/paste. Also, as Kristin said, I have clicked a tile while manipulating other things in the background and had to fix it at some length.
That would be awesome. Most times I has to stretch and skew tiles to serve as floors and ground
I would definitely support this, a simple repeating texture selector would allow for surprisingly quick dungeon/location creation, especially with the planned upgrade to the drawing tools. We can already select the background color for a page, textures would provide a lot of utility for the game. I would love things beyond just stone and cobble though; marble tile, grass, and wood floors. Nothing too fancy or complex of course, but something that would allow almost instant set of a 'generic' location would be a huge boon to me as a GM.
