Advice: best way for players to map while DM narrates what they see

Hey all, I haven't been on roll20 in a while, so maybe there are new tools for this, but we're playing some old school essentials DnD and during our first session, we had one guy (we were on Zoom) mapping and periodically holding the graph paper up to his screen to show everyone else where we were.  This was, obviously, awful.  He even tried periodically scanning the map into photoshop, then screensharing via Zoom so we could see what was going on.  Still awful. What have you used that works easily to allow players to map, while the DM describes what they see and where they're going.  Bonus points if it's a map that all players can interact with and scroll / zoom / add notes and not just a screen share of what the mapper is doing...  I seem to recall roll 20 wasn't so good at this, but it's been years since i've been here.   A quick search of this forum didn't turn up much, but I suspect I might not be searching effectively or using the right search terms...? Any recommendations?
There are the drawing tools in the left side toolbar. Use freehand and start drawing. Might not be pretty, but it sure will be useable. Every player can scroll / zoom / draw / insert text in whatever way they like.
