Dynamic Lighting affecting Token Size, is there something I'm doing wrong?

I just today got my subscription and I've begun modifying my players tokens to add dynamic lighting.  Testing it out the lighting worked fine. So I went through the normal process of saving the token to the character in the journal. So far, so simple. Unfortunately when I dragged a new token for said character on the map it appears the default size has changed for no reason. Rather than being sized for one square on the map or 140 pixels, its defaulted to 4 squares or 280 pixels. At first I thought I must of accidentally clicked something but no matter how many times I resized it and saved the new token, the default would go back to large.  I then tested it on a creature token, making sure I did nothing but turn dynamic lighting on, turn night vision on and set it to 60ft. Save and attached.  Dragged new token on and lo an behold was suddenly in the new larger default size. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there something I've missed when adding dynamic lighting? cheers in advance.

Is this the legacy or updated system? From the way you've worded the night vision, I'm assuming updated?
Make sure you are dragging the token to the token layer not the map or DL layer. Each layer has a different 'default' way of handling drag-n-drop tokens. Some size to fit what ever the size the token was when linked to a sheet, some size it based on number of pixels in the image (up to 3x3 squares I believe). Tokens from a rollable table usually default to 1 square in size no matter what.

Posting page setting screenshots would help. This is the sort of thing that usually happens when one sets the default token on a non-standard page scale and then drags it into a standard page.
Cheers for the responses. I was dragging it to the correct layer but no matter what it was defaulting to a larger token size, even with the scaling set to normal.  The odd thing is yesterday the issue resolved itself and no longer are the tokens defaulting to a larger size rather than the ones they are set on.  I am however now having issues with some of my players just getting a loading screen for the map they're on if I turn on dynamic lighting. As soon as I turn it off and refresh they can then see the map fine.  Any tips on how to resolve this fresh issue? cheers
