Recording Sessions as GM

Yo. I think this is probably the forum to ask this in? Anyway, I'm thinking of recording a weekly session as a GM, but I can't think of a way to make it work without also recording all the stuff only the GM can see. The most obvious solution would be to get one of the players to record it, but I'd like to avoid having to do that if possible. So, yeah. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Run two browsers and have one of them rejoin as player. Depending on the software, you can choose which browser to record.
Cool, thanks!
Just be sure to use two DIFFERENT browsers (IE and Firefox, Firefox and Chrome, etc). Roll20 can get confused on page refreshes if you're logged in as both a GM and a player on the same browser at the same time.

If you have a spare computer you could always log in with both and use one as the recorder also. It might cause lag if you're streaming vs just recording.
Like Pat said, run two browses, then use www.screencast-o-matic.com to record it.

OMG. I did not know about this. Thank you for posting a link to it. I will be researching it. This might be what my son needs for his recording needs as OBS doesn't run on his OS (Windows XP, for now).

I use Screencast-o-matic for my Roll20 tutorials. Handy little program. Not sure how well it captures video chat since I don't think it can capture 30 fps.
OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) may be an alternative if Screencast-o-matic has problems with the video chat. https://obsproject.com/
Very timely topic. I recorded our first session using Cam Studio and went over the limit and lost all the video. Thankfully I was able to resurrect the audio from the temp files using Audacity. I hadn't thought about logging in as a user. For my purposes I don't see the problem of letting people see the GM side of things. I don't intend to release it until after we've finished the adventure. I will definitely check these two programs out.

I looked at Screencast and it has a 15 minute limit unless you purchase it. Great for tutorials not that great for game recording. OBS is what I use but you have to have Windows Vists or newer to use. I'm not sure on the linux or Mac OS so if you use those you should look into it. OBS has a little learning curve, still learning here, but it can be used with youtube and twitch. I would recommend the OBS for most recordings unless you want to buy X-Split which is what the Mods/Devs use and others also use it.
how about options for local recording? I'm not really up for streaming my game, but I still want to record my sessions for postarity.

The OBS can record straight to your harddrive. I haven't played with screencast because of that 15 minute limit. I was so excited until I learned that.
If you use Hangouts on Air (Google's "broadcast" hangout solution) it automatically records to YouTube. The downsides are that anyone can watch it on YouTube while it's happening, and that the saved video becomes public at the end of the session, until you change the publicity settings. They can't be changed while you're still streaming and there doesn't appear to be any option to change them in G+ or Hangouts.
