How to use Animated Orbital Condition ?

Hi guys, like the title said, I bought Animated Orbital Condition (this one :&nbsp; <a href="https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/4747/animated-orbital-conditions" rel="nofollow">https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/4747/animated-orbital-conditions</a> )&nbsp;from the market and I don't know how to actually implement them in my games as actual status effect to select from the token directly, roll20 tells me it needs to be png, jpg, or static gif. Is there some other thing i can do to make this work ?

These are not status effects per say, they are tokens that sit on top of other tokens.&nbsp;
I too purchased these and thought they would work like status markers and was a little disappointed how they work. The concept and work is great, just wish it worked better in implementation. Basically they are just like another token. The issue is there is no way to really merge it to the token so when you put them over the token to designate the condition, and the player moves then you have to move the token too. Another issue is they are either too small or have to sit on top of token. If it is a NPC then you have to move the animated condition marker, move the token, then move the condition marker again. The best way I found to use them is to make them bigger, so if the token with the condition is 1x1 square I make the condition 2x2. Then I hold ALT to not have it snap to grid and have it surround the token. I also put it on the map layer so it is easier to move tokens without having to move that first.

DM Joe, API is not my area of expertise on Roll20 -- ask The Aaron or the community under API or Pro forum --- but there is API Scripts that pro users can install to automate that token-following-token and sticking on top of another token as you move. I think with a little bit of learning how to install and configure, it would make that process you spoke of, to become painless and automatic.

Sorry I'm late on this, that's actually my listing. These were made before Token Markers were properly implemented. What has been said up to this point is correct, in that these are basically just a new token you overlay on top of an existing one. Token Markers do not support animations at this time. Instead, you need to move both the orbital condition and the base token at the same time. In practical terms, I used to do this manually, but thanks to a script TheAaron made, the conditions follow around automatically if you're willing to do a bit of prepwork. This is the API script. You need to be a Pro user to use this! <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/7992951/script-tokencondition-easily-add-full-token-condition-images-to-character-and-monster-tokens/?pageforid=7992951#post-7992951" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/7992951/script-tokencondition-easily-add-full-token-condition-images-to-character-and-monster-tokens/?pageforid=7992951#post-7992951</a> For those interested, this is specifically the naming scheme I use for my tokens with this script. Decoration: StatusName [width:*3|height:*3] I'm gonna go ahead and send private messages to DM Joe and Silkless to let them be aware of this in order to help the game run better. But if anyone finds this thread in the future and needs help with this token pack, or any other pack I've made, feel free to DM me.
Neat concept, unacceptable implementation. a WASTE of my money...and I stupidly purchased both before trying the 1st one......

You should be able to just stack the tokens on top of each other, and then select them both, and click 'group'. When you go to move them, click on the stack, and then click again to drag it, instead of just clicking and dragging which will separate them. It's not seamless, but it's not really hard to use either. It'd be nice if there was a fast keyboard shortcut to group two tokens together for this sort of purpose (or for what I've done, which is make tokens that have accessories such as optional capes, horns or optional magic that fits their hands). The same thing should work for the orbital conditions for non-pro users, which I think look great. Not so useful if it's the player, I guess you could always give them control over the status effect and let them move it themselves. Maybe a feature request for 'pair tokens' and 'unlink tokens' is in order. I don't think you're screwed if you deem them useless to you, you can request a refund or maybe a marketplace credit/substitute. Honestly I think they're great looking statuses.

To request a refund, write to <a href="mailto:team@roll20.net" rel="nofollow">team@roll20.net</a>. But, yeah, the script Rainy mentioned will do everything you need (and a lot more, and it costs nothing).

I do agree that the implementation is somewhat subpar. Unfortunately, the API is the best option we have at the moment. I'll go ahead and put this here, but it never hurts my feelings if someone dislikes the implementation of the pack and wishes for a refund. Usually, Roll20 refunds no questions asked so long as you don't abuse the system and make constant refunds. Additionally, if someone wants a more tailor made version of the animations, I save all the base files and can make small tweaks, and I'm usually willing to do simple edits on request. Everyone's idea of a perfect way to run their D&amp;D games are slightly different from each other, and as a naturally picky person, I'm understanding if someone decides they don't want to use my items. I'd much rather anyone who purchases my offerings finds them useful to their games than to feel like someone they purchased was almost what they actually wanted. I know it's a hard pill to swallow to pay 5-10 dollars on packs most people expect to work out of the gate, only to be told that for the best experience they need a $10 monthly subscription to make the most use of it. As a general rule of advice, anyone who looks at animated offerings on the Roll20 Marketplace should be aware of the limitations that animations provide. Too many animations all at once can lag a tabletop to a slideshow, and inevitably, animations are subject to compression and won't look as great at higher resolutions like images will. Additionally, no Marketplace offering without use of the API can add in functions that the Roll20 tabletop already doesn't have. If you're confused about the usage of any Marketplace item, try to check the creator page and see if they've linked contact information and ask. I'm always willing to answer questions have to make sure they feel their money is well spent. Anyway, this turned into a few paragraphs real fast. TL;DR, Refunding is okay, talk to me if you have questions or small tweaks regarding a pack I've made.
