Placing Images inside Handout Text

I used to be able to copy&paste an image from anywhere, or drag an image from my Library, into the Handout. It'll appear inside the Handout text, and I can then adjust the size. I'll save the Handout and the image remains. Now when I do that, the image disappears and doesn't stay.  Can someone tell me if this is a bug or is there another (just as easy) way to place images inside the Handout texts?

I just tried, and I am able to drag an image from my Art Library into a handout (after selecting "edit", of course). I don't seem to be able to copy paste into it from an external source, though I've never tried to do that before so not sure if that functionality has changed.
