Questions regarding modifing comunity sheets

hello, first topic here i have questions regarding what kind of process (or approval) is necessary to modify the communities/public character sheets. i am GMing a game of WH40K rogue trader, and i have noticed that the character sheet provided by default (the public one) is rather disappointing and lacks a lot of the useful features that for example, the Dark Heresy (another FFG WH40K game)  character sheet has. I have read in the wiki that only Pro subscribers can modify a character sheet's code. im interested in becoming a subscriber if im allowed to modify the public character sheet since I know that i could modify the sheet for my own private game but i would want to share my work with other players that may not be interested in joining my private game.  is that possible? are there any requirements besides pro subscription? approval process?

The Rogue Trader sheet hasn't been updated in over 2 years, so if you have plans to update it, go for it. There's no approval process. The character sheet repository is established on the principle that no one has ownership over any of the sheets, and any Pro subscriber can alter absolutely any sheet they want to.  Now, its best for people to show some responsibility and respect for other designers and sheet users. Don't make changes that will drastically change how a sheet functions, and absolutely do not change existing attribute names without a script to convert the old data to the new. For sheets being actively maintained, its polite to check that your plans dont conflict with theirs. But in this case, that doesnt matter. So have at it!

Oh thats great to read thank you for that info. although i may just create a new sheet so it will not impact anyone else, and then upload it to the community sheets, for anyone who may want to change.

The roll20 devs generally dont like to have multiple sheets for the same game. They'll allow it if the sheets are suitably different and both in use. If you create a replacement for the existing sheet, one of three things will happen: They'll accept your sheet and let it coexist with the old one. I think this most often happens when the sheets are substantially different. They'll reject your sheet. This doesnt happen often, but can happen. They'll accept your sheet, and remove the old one. (Those using it will continue, but it wont appear in the sheet selection dropdown for new campaigns). This seems like the most likely result to me - but it's impossible to predict with any accuracy. Since it's hard to say which will happen, I'd message someone at roll20 (<a href="mailto:team@roll20.net" rel="nofollow">team@roll20.net</a>) before you do a lot of work, tell them your plans, and see what they think.&nbsp; If you are concerned that the changes you want to make will invalidate sections of the old sheet, and you dont feel confident about being able to transfer data from the old sheet to the new, making a new sheet is a good way to go. But it's a good idea to message roll20 first to check what will happen.
