Journal became a disorganized mess overnight

Hi R20 Team, My name is Jannik and on the Internet I go by Tharrock. I am running a rather large westmarches style D&D 5e game via R20. We are roughly 50 players and over night, the Journal became a giant mess. We have Folders for every player with subfolders for every individual charakter (currently around 150). Magic Items are being stored there too in form of Handouts. Over night EVERY entry into the journal of any kind got dumped into the root folder, killing the performance on most machines and making the manual cleanup a nightmare that would certainly take dozens of hours, and worst of all, because of the poor performance charakters have accidentaly been deleted already. we tried (since I am a pro subscriber) to Rollback the server manualy to three different dates, but we could find no changes at all, even the things we changed after the first attempt didn't disappear in the second or third. We opened a ticket and are being told that there are too many tickets and we have to wait. Sorry, but this is not something we can wait on, we run multiple games a day, sometimes mutliple ones simultaniously, using the charakter vault to get to an overflow server. We also need to know, if Roll 20 can in theory even support the kind of numbers we assault the journal with: 50 players, 150 Charakters, hundrets of magic items and Tokens? Is this too much for the site to handle? Do we need to look for an alternative? Kind reguards, Jannik / Tharrock
I'm also on that server as a player and I would like to add that, besides having spent about 4 hours now, recataloging and moving items to their correct folders, it's been super annoying that moving handouts and character sheets, more often than not, causes them to actually make a copy rather than move that specific item. So I literally have doubles, triples and more of almost every handout/character sheet I've touched. Instead of being able to catalogue things and getting some sort of order going, more just keep getting randomly added causing even more clutter. Sure, I could just delete the doubles... unfortunately that also deletes the original. This is a thing that's been happing for a while now but right now, under the above, by Jannik described, circumstances it's excessively frustrating. Timely help would be really appreciated. G27

Hi y'all, So we brought this to our team and we want to try something that may be able to rectify the issue. To perform the task, we'll need the game to be empty for about ten minutes so we can go into it. You should also be aware that if we do this and it works, you'll lose any work you've done on the campaign since yesterday. However, if it doesn't, we can immediately restore it to how it is now.   Do we have your permission to do so? And, if so, what time would work best for you?

I have noticed this with a few uploads as well.  I thought I accidentally uploaded the same file twice, and so I deleted it, and realised both disappeared...

Good would be any time from now until right around 12 AM CEST. If you can't make it happen today, than tomorrow would be great. Basically anything after midnight CEST should work because it's when we sleep. The Server in question is called "Die Speere" not "Die Speere 2" not "Die Speere Chat Archive" just the name. Don't know if you knew that. Thanks for the Answer, I appreciate it.
Alright, so I assume there is some desynch here because of timezones, we all live in germany so maybe it will be best if you give us a timespan where you could do it and we tell you what works for us?

Alright, I have to go to bed now and I told everyone to be off the server over night just do it as soon as you read this. If you need anything, One of us, Kohaku, will be here and he has my permission to make a decision if anything comes up.

We didn't notice any changes in case you did anything. Would be nice to hear from you again.
I'd appreciate a response to this as well. It seems that moving items and characters back to their original folders sometimes works, other times they just end up back in the Root Folder. Copying and renaming everything seems to help but a) that is a LOT of work and b) I am not sure it helps 100% of the time. It did with my characters / items, other people still have problems. Again, I know it's the weekend and you guys are busy but we have a session or 2 pretty much every day and with holidays coming up, that's just going to become more. It would be really helpful to have the server back, even if it's the status from Monday or last Sunday. G27
I am bumping this up. A response, any response, would be nice. We have a GM conference this weekend and we need to know if we should be looking for alternatives such as moving to another server. But that is A LOT of work and I don't want to initiate it unless necessary. I know you guys are busy and a lot of people are playing. If this isn't fixable, that's fine, stuff happens, but even a simple Yay or Nay would help. G27
Is something else happening or can we stomp the server and look for another alternative where we can play DND? I mean, this server is always paid for and there should at least be some support. Nothing happens here. After almost 2 weeks you should think that something has happened.
Hey everyone -  Our development team attempted to manually restore the folder structure for the game, but was unable to do so due to its overall size and complexity. Going forward, we logged the particular issue that occurred and will be further investigating for future prevention. As we are unable to take any further action, we will be closing this post, but you’re more than welcome to contact us directly with any further questions or concerns.
