Center map on token

I suspect that this has probably been suggested before, but I didn't see a recent topic so I'm suggesting it again. Our group is trying out Roll20 after using MapTools for some previous campaigns. There is a lot about it we really like, but one feature that seems to be frustrating for all group members is navigating the map. It would be extremely helpful for a player to have the ability to center their map on a token they control. It could be a button or a hyperlinlink on the character matched with that token, or a drop down list from the user pane of the tokens that user controls. The specific form doesn't matter, but SOME functionality to jump to the place on the map where a particular token the player controls is located would be extremely helpful.

Can't you just shift + click&hold the area to do a force view ping?

Sam, that functionality is only available to the GM (forcing all players to the same point on the map). I believe Philip wants a way for the player to center the map onto one of his or her tokens (meaning the players don't necessarily get the same view).

Yes, I mean something that would have exactly the same effect as if the individual players manually scrolled their own map view to find a token they control and center on it, except allowing them to do that by clicking on a button or the like instead of by scrolling around.

I would love to see this functionality added to the turn tracker. Shift (Or ctrl or alt) click the name and your screen centers on token. Please add this feature in some form!

I would say this is one of my groups most requested features. Along the same lines.. when using dynamic lighting, it is an incredible pain for the players to find them selves when they change zoom level, as the map always resets the view and player have to scroll around to find there little lit corner of the world.. clicking on their name in the turn order would just be awesome.

Yes, zooming is a problem for us, too, regardless of dynamic lighting. It would be much preferable if the map would stay centered on the same point when zooming. Perhaps we should post that as another suggestion.

since you are a mentor, you could use a simple 'sendPing' script (when Riley fixes it next week) so players can do like !me and it sends everyones view to that token. I THINK it also has the option to move only that player if you pull thier ID as the sender..but not sure, its broken at the moment.

I don't think having everyone zoom to the one player who wants to see his token is a good work around. This has been a big problem for my group in the last couple sessions since my GM had call to use an extra big map for some boat action.
