Hello everybody! I'm a DM with 3 years of experience under my belt running games, and my homebrewed world that I spent the last two of those years picking away at is finally ready to see some real play! That being the case, it's time to get a game together. But before that, a bit about my DMing style first, a brief intro to the campaign, and a discussion on the paid aspect. As I said, I've been DMing for 3 years and playing for a few before I started. That is to say, I know the rules, I've made my mistakes, and I've ironed out most of the kinks. My primary goal each session is make sure everybody felt like they had a good time, got to exercise some old fashioned free will, and are excited to play again. I place a particular focus on roleplaying and decision making in my games, though I can and have adjusted the proverbial slider up and down to suit the wants of my players. If you do decide to join, during session zero there will be discussion about which parts of the game you as well as the other players love the most, and we will find a balance that suits everyone between politics, roleplay, combat, exploration, and everything else. Now, on to the campaign. Again, it is set in my homebrewed world, which is a low magic setting taking place about 10,000 years after some sort of cataclysm. Things have mostly returned to normal, and the world has recovered, largely forgetting about the event. You will be adventurers making your way to Capitol, a massive City-State located centrally that is an epicenter of culture and trade, as well as the desired possession of many nations and ambitious factions. As to what will happen once you finally arrive, well, in a city like Capitol... Who can really say? Finally, the elephant in the room, the fact that the game is paid. There are a lot of justifications many DMs make for why they do it, and it can be easy to come up with many. But I'll do my best to keep my reasoning honest. I put a lot of personal time and effort into my games, and being that I also work a job I just don't have infinite free time, and that free time is a valuable commodity. By charging, I can justify spending a LOT more time preparing an excellent adventure while also ensuring that my players are invested enough to make it worth every second. Most of where that money will go, as well, is back into the game. Map packs, tokens, modules, rulebooks, tilepacks... between all these things spent hundreds if not thousands investing into the hobby, and yet still don't have everything. We use Discord for voice, and I will have my camera on in roll20 (note that you do not need to use your camera if you don't want to or don't have one) The first two games are absolutely free, so you can give it a trial run and see how you like it. The price after that would be $10 per session via paypal, playing weekly and starting as soon as we have a full group (so one more player, with space for two) Game link: https://app.roll20.net/join/7696977/R8Hb-g Please note that Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements
