Picking "Equipment Cards" in the beginning of a game

Hi there. I'm gearing up for Gen Con Online and transferring games I'd normally run in person over to a digital medium. I've run into a weird problem. In the tabletop version of the game, there were a pile of cards that represented various pieces of equipment. Players could divvy up this gear, and anything that they didn't want was liquidated for cash. These characters were Jawas, so there was a lot of gear. Is there any way I can lay out all the gear in card form and have the players be able to examine it and select it for their "hand?" I'll be honest that the card mechanics in Roll20 confuse the hell out of me.  I do have a Pro account if that is necessary.  Thanks in advance. 

You can create a card deck with the appropriate items, and drag cards out to the table (you need to shuffle the deck first - click the button marked shuffle!). Once they are on the table, players can right click them and select "Take Card" and it will be added to their hand. No Pro needed.

Additional questions: Do I put the text as the name of the card, or do I need to have an image as the "face" of the card that has the text on it?  I can see the deck and I can shuffle it. I can even deal myself cards, but I can't see what is on the cards. And I can't drag the cards and leave them on the play area. Is that because I'm not using the right browser or something?
