Divine Smite on my sheet is broken.. and I'm a caveman.

Under the Core list part of my page I can select Smite (undead) and a window will pop up asking me to input a value. Its asking me what level spell my smite will be cast at.  (as well as the spell page of my sheet) However, if I try to use just a normal smite it simply rolls it for level 1.  My question is, what do I need to do to have the box pop up and ask what level I want to cast smite at? could you show me a simple way to copy and paste, and where to paste. Crayons preferred. 2rd grade english would be better for me. Thank you.

Just to clarify, this is the 5E Roll20 sheet, and your character is a Paladin? If you open your spells tab, and click the i next to Divine Smite, followed by the cog, it should open up the edit dialogue. Check the Higher LVL Casting section, it should be a D8 (from the drop down), and 1 per level. When you edit any number fields in here, you need to either mouse-click or tab to a new field for it to update. You can then click Divine Smite up the top next to the i to see if the changes worked! The macros generated in the Attacks & Spellcasting section of the Core tab should update when you modify the spells on the Spells tab!

The one thing I can say, I follow directions very well. Just ask my wife and car's GPS. However, after following the directions you gave and insuring that my sheet and your picture are identical, the problem still remains.  Any other ideas? update: The other spells are failing to do the same thing. It will not ask me for an input value.

Try replacing one of the spells and see what happens: this won't work for Smite, as it is not listed as a spell, but you can try deleting one of your other spells (make sure it has higher level cast damage!), then dragging a fresh copy in from the compendium. Not all spells can be upcast though. You can fix Smite by replacing the DAMAGE2 field (currently blank) with the following: [[?{Cast at what level?|1|2|3|4|5|6|7|8|9}-1]]d8 Probably change the TYPE field to the right of it to "Higher Level" or "Upcast Dmg" or something for clarity. Save changes by clicking outside the field you edited, and hit the label at the top to cast it and see if it works. Some people prefer using the DAMAGE2 field for this anyway, it's a better layout than the separate Higher Level Cast template (I've found upcast healing getting missed quite often!). Report back if it's still busted!
Oosh! one more question. Does your neck hurt? Because you have been carrying that massive brain around. Thank you very much!  your macro worked perfectly!

Luckily it's mostly made of air, and not very heavy!
