The Mongoose Traveller First Edition Character Sheet by John W

Hi, apologies, does anyone know how I can contact John W who is the author of this character sheet. He's done a cracking job but i have a couple of questions to as the gentleman. Kind regards
If the look at the sheet.json for the sheet at Github, you will see the author's Roll20 user ID. Looking at https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/blob/master/Mongoose_Traveller/sheet.json, it looks like John W's Roll20 user ID is 492849 . Use that number in a URL like so: https://app.roll20.net/users/492849 and get the user's Roll20 Profile page. Look for the Send Private Message link on that page and you should be all set.

Oh right, that's Coal Powered Puppet. Think he said he wouldn't do more character sheet stuff. Can you tell the rest of us what questions you're gaving? Bugfix, feature request, accessibility option, or just info on how it works? It possible some of us other might also be able to help as well.
Gents, Many thanks and again apologies, I’m new to Roll 20 and just finding my feet so excuse and obvious stupidity. I’m setting up a game of Traveller Mongoose first Edition using the excellent character sheet provided. My query is around combat skill. I’ll illustrate this hoping you can steer me right. 1. I’ve created a character sheet with a character who on the skills sheet has a Gun Combat Skill of 0 and a Dexterity of 10 which will give him a DM of +1 when using Gun Combat. He has a Specialty Skill of Slug Rifle 1. So his basic roll would be 2d6 +1 +1. I’ve shown this on the skills sheet with a 1 in the DM box on the gun combat skill line and a level 1 in the level box on the speciality line. 2. On the combat sheet I’ve put a Slug Rifle in with Dexterity at the DM and the skill of 1. The rifle does 3d6 damage. I click on the Roll weapon box (bottom left) on this page to fire the gun. 3. The program roils 5 dice (I believe this is for both the attack (2d6) and the damage (3d6) rolling: 1, 2 ,4 ,6 and 6. In the chat bar it shows the results as: Attack 5 and damage 16. Looking at the macro for the attack it shows 2d6 for the attack +1 (DM ?) +1 (Skill?) but it then shows +3 and -3 ? where did that come from ? there is then a +0 which I’m guessing relates to the 0 modifier as I didn’t put one in. IS that right ? 4. Looking at the macro for the damage its quite straight forward simply the sum of 3d6, in this case 16. So three things confuse me: 1. On the characters skill sheet where I’ve expanded to create a speciality skill, have I done this right ? what’s the extra box on the skill line for modifier ? 2. Where do the extra +3 and -3 come in on the attack when I roll from the combat page ? 3. It looks like the roll is made by hitting the Roll box with the three stars which then roll a straight 2d6. So doing that I get 2d6 rolled with a 1 and a 2. The chat bar shows a total of 5. Being the 2d6 and the cumulative sum of my modifiers (+1 Dex DM and +1 Speciality skill). Which button should I be using to use that skill, should I be rolling the skill sheet button pressing the Roll *** button or on the combat sheet the roll weapon button ? Sorry if I’m making this cumbersome, as ever very very grateful for any advice and guidance. I’m loving the sheet its excellent I’m just getting lost in the mathematics and options. Kind regards

I will have to look at the rules again, and then the sheet to determine why I set it up that way. So preface each of thise answers with "I think": 1. The box is for a modifier specific to the specialty. I don't play the game so when I made the sheet I added the option for additional modifiers just in case. 2. Right now I think its because the skill is trained. The button might be set up to roll with the penalty as default, and if the skill its checked trained the penalty is "removed" by adding the bonus equal to the unskilled penalty. 3. Again, I have to check, but the "***" looks like a specialty button. Since the slug gun has a total modifier of +2, the total is five (dice roll of 1+2 and the +2 modifier). Skill specialties are in a repeating field. I can't add a repeating field to drop down. So you can pick a base skill and add the modifier granted by the specialty to the weapon block. Best I can offer right now. Life is real busy and I am slow, but I'm still in the race. Just, way, way in the back.
CPP, thank you sir, very kind and again I'm hugely grateful for the sheet and your reply. Very best wishes :)
