Hi! I'm looking to get a bit more practice as a DM. I've DMed on and off for the past few years and just want to find some people to play with occasionally in an episodic/short arc setting, rather than commit to a full campaign. In that spirit, I've created 8 characters inspired by several characters on Futurama. The group is a Simic Combine Lab that makes ends meet by hunting down exotic monsters and selling the body parts to other labs for research purposes. Basically legal monster poaching. The idea is to have a short arc that is finished in 3-4 sessions. And if we have fun with it, maybe do another one or even try a whole campaign. The characters are 5th level with a focus on grappling and area of effect spells. I've made them on dndbeyond and will share the links. I use Roll20 and Discord. As a DM, I'm pretty flexible and more interested in the game's flow than worrying about all the rules. I like storytelling and creative solutions. I try to be pretty prepared but also want to practice improvising. I've sketched out an introductory one-shot so that everyone can meet each other and try out their character. I don't have the short arc written out yet, so feel free to bring some ideas for where you'd like the group to explore. Unfortunately I'm not good at accents and can't seem to get out of my comfort zone in that regard yet (someday haha). My wife and I are in our early 30s (she'll be playing too) and we're pretty laid back people. All levels of experience are welcome. My ask is that anyone playing keeps it a safe space for everyone. Be offensive to monsters, not each other. 18+ please. Send me a message with a little bit about yourself and why you like D&D if interested. I like 2-3 hour sessions not late at night, Saturday or Sunday. Cheers!
