Switching SAVAGE WORLDS Character Sheets wipes out data

Hello! I'm relatively new to being a GM on Roll20 and I'm having some trouble with switching character sheets. I'm trying to set up a homebrew STAR WARS campaign using SWADE. So when I created the game, I chose a sheet that was listed for that version of the rules. However, the sheet turns out to be more closely aligned with earlier rule sets, and is moreover partially in French, so I tried to switch to the tabbed character sheet. Unfortunately, switching sheets wiped out all the character stats and other info my players had entered, so I had to switch back to the French sheet. Is there some way to get the character data to transfer automatically, or does it just all have to be re-entered? Thanks, and may the Force be with you! --Steve

Unfortunately, in this case the data will all need to be re-entered. Character sheets store their info in attributes and these two sheets use different attribute naming conventions. Since you're a Pro, someone could write an API script to convert the one sheet to the other, but that person would need a knowledge/understanding of both sheets and what attributes map to the other. Probably quicker (and easier) to re-enter it all. Though, to make it easier, you could duplicate the game and in one game change the sheet. Then your players could open both games (I'd use different browsers, though I don't think it's technically necessary) and have them side by side. There can be some weirdness doing this, so I'd have them close out the game you're migrating from (but don't have them log off).
Thanks very much! I think I'll just re-enter the data myself--no sense making my players suffer for my lack of knowledge of Roll20 when I set the game up. --Steve
