D&D Module: D&D Basics
and Mechanics Workshop Summary: Welcome travelers and potential
future players! Jumping into a game like D&D can be quite intimidating at
first sight. Seeing the huge array of resources and other things you can look
at to help guide you on your path to knowledge and fun. I am putting together a
small workshop to help introduce new players to the basics and mechanics in
Dungeons and Dragons. I will cover many of the basics for D&D which will be
character creation, ability scores (methods), combat, skill checks, role
playing, game etiquette, and more. The object is to sift through the plentiful
amount of information and present it to new players in an easy to digest
fashion. When I first start I found myself trying to run in many different
directions to learn the game and overwhelmed with all the information. Schedule: July 3, 10:00-11:30 AM EDT July 3, 2:30-4:00 PM EDT July 11, 7:00-8:30 PM EDT I want to see how few or many may be interested in such a workshop and I will
create time slots from there. Session Length: The
session will likely be 1-1.5 hours to cover different aspects of the game and
ensure there is some time for questions. About the Dungeon Master I have been playing D&D for
over 2 years now. I started as a player and stepped into the Dungeon Master
role when my first group lost its DM in the first 2 sessions of playing. Since
I started being a DM, I found great job in bringing the stories to life for
other players to play though and immerse themselves in. I believe the rules are
a lovely structure for the game, but operate under the known “rule of cool.” Tipping: No payment is required for this
workshop at this time. Tips are never expected but always welcome. I am taking
time to put things like this together to help our community and bring more
players into the amazing world of D&D. Disclaimer: This game
encourages tipping to the Game Master/ Dungeon Master through Paypal should a
patron be so inclined to allow myself to continue to hold such workshops for
the community. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and
cannot enforce any private arrangements. Game Rules: ·
If a player is abusive or discriminatory to
another player or myself, they will be removed from the game immediately. There
is a zero-tolerance policy for this kind of behavior. DnD is about bringing
people together to have fun. ·
The aim of the game is to have fun. I regularly
ask players for feedback on how they feel about the campaign and gage if they
are having fun. If a player is not having fun, we can discuss it further and
see if any adjustments can be made to help. ·
Respect your fellow players and DM. Everyone
should be respectful and friendly to one another. The spotlight is meant to be
shared equally. ·
No one gets to have fun at the expense of
another player. It is about team work and getting through the campaign
together. Inner party struggle in a sense of growth can be very satisfying to role play, but not at the expense of reducing someone else’s fun. Additional Details: If you might be interested in the
workshop or have a group of people looking for an introduction to D&D, feel
free to message me and we can discuss it further! Thank you for reading and I
look forward to hearing from you.
