Compendium and Character Sheets

In Game Settings > Compendium Settings > Share my Compendium with Players? If I select "YES" (for a specific Compendium) does that mean the players will be able to see and read every page of the Compendium?

What I'm trying to do is make it so that the players cannot see any part of the Compendium I puchased but still be able to utilise certain playable races that are connected to that Compendium when they use the Charactermancer. Is this possible?

Unfortunately not. Compendium sharing is an all-or-nothing. Notice that adventure text is usually NOT part of a product's compendium. For example, if a module contains a new background, the background will be available in the Compendium, and visible to all players, but not the adventure text. That is provided as handouts in the game created by the module.

For things such as Volo's guide to Monsters, however, players given the ability to create monstrous-race characters will be able to see monster statblocks for that book. Since this would be impossible to police anyway (there's no way to enforce that players don't have their own digital or paper copy of the book), it's rarely an issue.
