Legacy Dynamic Lighting - Keep Explored Parts Of The Map Revealed?

I know this has been asked, but I can't seem to get a working answer.  Or maybe a satisfying answer.  Maybe I'm just overlooking something. I have a group going through the Redbrand Hideout.  I'm using Dynamic Lighting and Advanced Fog Of War.  Things seem to be working just fine, but my players want to be able to see the rooms they've already explored without having to go all the way back to them - as if they were looking at a map they'd drawn along the way. I can't for the life of me figure out how to make this work.  I've seen suggestions to drop a light-emitting token in the room that the players control, but when I try that it doesn't seem to have any effect.  The player's token still has to be in the room before it lights up for them.  Ultimately, I've resorted to removing the DL lines I drew for those rooms they've already seen, and even then they have to get close enough for their own token light to illuminate the room. The page settings are: Player light settings: What's my problem, or am I asking for something that Roll20 really can't do? EDIT:  I did have "enforce line of sight" checked originally.  I think I unchecked it while trying solutions. EDIT 2:  I rechecked "enforce..." and the "leave a light token in the room" works, but only if I remove the DL walls.  Is that how it needs to be done?

What you're describing is pretty much how AFoW is supposed to work - something has definitely gone wrong if there's no faded, black & white map filled in where the players have been. I can't see the problem with the settings. Maybe try enabling normal Fog of War and use the manual reveal tool to reveal some of the map - see if that works for the players? That would narrow the issue down, anyway. You definitely shouldn't need to remove any DL lines for the players to see the map layer where they've explored. If they want to see the token layer then yes, they will need a light token or similar, and that token will need 'have sight' checked and permission granted to all players.
Thank you Oosh! There was a third option:  I wasn't thinking clearly and hadn't done proper troubleshooting.  I logged in as a dummy player (as opposed to a frustrated GM signed in as a player ;)) and it appears that: The player CAN see a faded view of the map they've been to, and A light source DOES illuminate a room they're not in, when properly configured. I suspect my player may not have described what they were seeing in a way that helped me understand, and then I was seeing it working as expected, but from the GM perspective - so it was the view I always see, more or less. I really appreciate your help on this, thank you!  You and the other experts here have been a fantastic resource.  Please know you're appreciated.

No problem, good to know it was legitimately the players at fault :) DMing is much easier without them....
