A recent update removed the monster placement in pre-purchased Mad Mage?!?!?

So I recently posted about some data loss. That was frustrating. But i was so mad about it that I didn't even notice, ALL of the Mad Mage monster content, all of the pre-placed tokens that came with the original pack are gone. Its just blank maps.  Tech support took too long to respond and I wasn't able to roll the game back. Any suggestions?

this sounds like something i've heard about, a weird situation but see if this applies to you?  it's not an Update, it's an ADD-ON that ruins the monster placement. If you've bought the Bundle of mad mage, you have both: The Module (which is populated with monsters), and the Add-On Version which is more like a blank mega-dungeon you can add the levels to other games you may have. If you add the Add-On, on top of the Module, it ruins it in the way you described, erases all the monsters. This happened to my DM, we had to reinstall Mad Mage on a fresh new tabletop and bring the PC's character sheets over to the newer one.

There should be a warning or something if that is intended behavior. Fortunately I only modified and adjusted level one before that happened to me.

The marketplace page tells you that you already have that content if you have the module. Note: This product only contains the maps and decks from Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage , and does not include tokens, book contents, notes, art handouts, or any other element. All of the contents of the Map & Card Deck Addon are available in the complete Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage bundle. It also warns you what will happen if you activate the addon on top of the module. Important Notice: The Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage - Map & Card Deck Addon is not designed to be added into the core Dungeon of the Mad Mage adventure module, as these elements already exist within the module. Attempting to import them into the core module will result in your current maps being overwritten by the addon's maps.
You are right that these warnings exist. It is worth considering a few factors: This is a really, really bad piece of design. It should not be possible to erase the content with an add on. If it MUST be possible, then there should be a pop-up confirmation. There is more protection placed on clearing the chat history. I understand that Roll20 has limited programming resources and they often have to decide where to apply them. That does not change that this decision has negatively impacted many users and paying customers. The fact that multiple users have experienced this problem is an indication that the system does not provide adequate warnings.  I am not saying that I wasn't warned. I am saying that the warnings were confusing enough and placed in such a way that I still encountered a pretty significant error. The issue was exacerbated by a lack of response from tech support. If the response had been in a reasonable time, the situation would have been corrigible.  In fact, if I had even been told that a pro level account would have enabled me to fix the issue, it could have been turned into a net gain for Roll20 as I would have gladly paid the additional fee. Instead, the situation has made me reconsider using Roll20 as a system to support my hobby.

Totally up to you.  Perhaps it is the linux user in me.  I think there are more than enough warnings around.  If I break something after being warned, that is on me.

It happened to my group too. I think the add-on should be Titled something like "Dungeon Of The Mad Mage (Empty Blank Maps) Add-On". Having it looking like "Dungeon Of The Mad Mage" Add-On, in your Add-Ons drop-down list, seems to imply you should add it to Dungeon of the Mad Mage, when in fact that's the one game you should NOT add it on.
